30-33 Weeks Pregnancy Update, Baby Shower and Home Renovations Updates!
Acre Homestead
Hello friend, welcome back. I am about to make myself some raspberry leaf tea. You are about to enjoy a 30 week to 33 week pregnancy update with our second baby. There's definitely some ups and downs and all sorts of good stuff along the way over this. It's almost four weeks total and you're not only going to see kind of my health journey throughout this pregnancy during this time frame, you're also going to see the house projects that we've been working on. We hired some people to help us with some house projects, you might be able to hear them right now and you will get an update throughout this on how that is going and then you're also going to see pictures and I'm gonna go into
a little bit about the baby shower my sister-in-law and my mother-in-law my sisters and my mom and my friends threw for me a couple weeks ago so I hope you sit back relax and enjoy this pregnancy update I just got done with a huge canning project I have my electric canner going one more time. Dinner is in the instant pot. I'm gonna make myself some tea, sit down and relax.
So I hope you do the same. Hello friend, I officially am 30 weeks pregnant today. So we are going into another pregnancy update here. And I got out of an OB appointment yesterday morning, just a routine OB appointment. It was my last once a month OB appointments.
And now we're heading into twice weekly appointments. Plus I'm gonna be having those weekly appointments with a FMM, fetal maternal medicine doctor as well. So it's gonna be a very, very busy next couple months while we wait for baby to come. Everything at the appointment yesterday was good.
Heartbeat was good. Nothing new or exciting to talk about when it comes to the pregnancy. But some cool things to talk about with our home, getting ready for baby. We ordered her furniture yesterday
or the day before, I can't remember, which I'm so excited about. It's so cute. It's so feminine. It's right here if you wanna see. This is the dresser and this is the crib.
We went with this crib because it converts into a toddler bed and then it converts into a twin bed. That's what we did with my son's furniture that we bought and the quality has been really good and it's just held up really well.
And so we kind of went with a little bit more feminine, girly version of what we got for him. And then other exciting stuff is an electrician was over yesterday to start the electrical for moving the washer and dryer downstairs.
Today, a plumber is going to be here, an electrician is going to be here as well, and they're just starting the process of moving the washer and dryer downstairs. I know that that is kind of a controversial decision Josh and I made, but trust me we went back and forth for months. The reason we're just starting the project now is we went back and forth for months. The reason we're just starting the project now is we went back and forth what was the best option
and there were so many factors we considered on why we chose what we chose and we do feel like we picked the right choice based on just so many factors. And so we are putting the washer and dryer downstairs. I grew up in a house for 23 years
where the laundry was on the floor below where all the bedrooms were. Josh and I's last two houses were like that. And hopefully this will just be a temporary thing, maybe a year or two until we can move them back upstairs, which that is our ultimate goal.
And we are gonna be putting in a laundry chute. So the general contractor is going to be here today. I don't know why we didn't think about this before, but we have figured out where we think we can put a laundry chute so that we can at least shoot the laundry downstairs. And instead of having to carry laundry up and downstairs,
we only have to carry clean laundry up the stairs. And you all gave me tons of good suggestions on how to do that efficiently. So we're really excited about that. I mean, in an ideal world, I would like my washer and dryer on the main floor where our bedrooms are.
That's been a huge blessing that we've been able to have that for the last three years. I've super, super enjoyed it, but I'm excited to bring home this baby girl and she's gonna be worth the inconvenience of having the washer and dryer downstairs.
So that's really the most exciting stuff. I'm still researching a glider slash like nursery chair. I didn't get one with my son. I had a recliner in our living room that I used and it worked fine, but it wasn't designed for babies. And so this time, that was the one thing that I didn't buy
when my son came that I wish I had invested in. And so this time around, I am going to invest in some sort of glider recliner. And I'm just doing the research, still trying to figure out which one we want. But I at least wanted to get her dresser
and her crib ordered, so that's really exciting. I'm definitely going a little bit more feminine. I haven't ordered the rug yet, but I wanna order like a light pink rug, and it's just gonna be cute. The walls are gonna be a neutral color.
I'm gonna go with the same color that I have in my whole entire house and then things like the rugs and the blankets and the sheets and stuff like that will add in some feminine touches. So I'm excited about that. I am getting ready to go to my mom's right now. We're going grocery shopping for Thanksgiving, our annual Thanksgiving shopping today. I've got a bunch of potatoes and onions and garlic and things from my garden that I'm gonna bring that we're gonna cook with And I can't wait to see you there next time. There was a pregnancy update. I will be sure to share with you

Get started freeWell, this week is an exciting week friend today. I am 31 weeks and three days pregnant right now I'm ready and I'm heading off to my mother-in-law's house My mom my mother-in-law's house. My mom, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-laws, and my sister are throwing me a baby shower for baby girl. And I have no idea what they've planned. I don't know what the decor is,
other than I know my mother-in-law came over with Josh's grandma and they shopped my front porch to pick out a ton of my pumpkins, to decorate her front porch with my pumpkins and I'm just really excited about it. So I didn't have a baby shower with my first, not that my family didn't offer. I just didn't feel like we needed it.
And when they offered this time around, I thought, let's go for it. So I'm really excited. I feel really blessed and honored that they have been planning this for two months now, I think, and it's's gonna be small and intimate just my closest friends and family I'm really looking forward to it. This is gonna be a fun week I was gonna turn my car on but I probably should wait until I'm ready to go The laundry room has now been all the way transferred into the basement we've been living with it for about a week now
It's going relatively well this week. We are getting a laundry chute, so that should improve it as well. We decided to put in a linen closet, which is gonna be a huge life upgrade, because I thought we were gonna completely lose a linen closet, because the closet in what was the laundry room was our linen closet.
And reading you all's comments, saying why wouldn't you take that space where the washer and dryer is and turn it into a linen closet? Just makes a lot of sense. So we're gonna get that this week. And Josh and I have ordered all the furniture. I told you that already, but we've ordered a glider now.
And I'm really excited just to fully get the house ready to go. And I feel like after this week, when all of these construction projects are done, we will be able to do that. So I need to head to my mother-in-law's house now. I will show you some photos of what they have done and I'm just really looking forward to it. I'm just excited to go celebrate baby girl and yeah so I feel really
good. I guess the biggest symptom between seeing you guys last time, my last update. And today, as I can tell, my energy level is very low. I can just tell my sleeping has gotten less restful. More interruptions throughout the night, so I'm not sleeping as well, and I can tell that when I do big projects, the next day, I have to basically do nothing.
It'll be just slow day, hang out with my family And just rest and then I will get the energy to do another project And so I'm just learning that that now that I'm into my third trimester I just don't have as much energy as I normally do and that's okay. Listening to my body is important. So let's go to this baby shower. Today the construction guys are coming to put in the linen closet right here,
and the laundry chute, and start closing this off. And Josh and I need to finish emptying all these cupboards. I have gone through and cleaned out these cupboards but I have not emptied them so we need to do that this morning. We also need to take out any other random things we have in here and we need to empty this linen closet. So it's gonna be a busy morning this morning getting this all cleaned up
before the construction starts in here. It took Josh and I about 45 minutes but we got this cabinet emptied. Some stuff we just brought downstairs, we'll deal with it later. Some stuff we are giving to Goodwill. Some stuff was expired so we went ahead and tossed it. We got these two cabinets emptied. The contractors are here. They have sketched out where they're going to put the linen closet. It's going to be 36 inches by, I don't know, four or five feet tall. And then
they've sketched out where they're going to put the laundry chute on this wall. It's going to be, I think, at 42 inches, so good, nice, and high up off the ground. And then we got all of these boxes taken care of that were down here. And I got, between Josh and I, we got this closet emptied. A lot of the stuff we just brought downstairs because it's eventually just going to come up
and go into the living closet. We are going to replace these doors. These accordion doors are very hard to open and close. So one thing we're gonna have done is they're gonna put some French doors here. We are gonna move the vacuum and mop. We're not sure where we're gonna put that yet, so that's
just gonna live here for now. They don't need that moved at this moment. So I'm not sure what they're gonna get to today. I'm making a bunch of Christmas candies today and I'm excited for the progress being made. Let's get some lights on. So, oh, it looks like part of the laundry chute is in. These are the doors for this huge cabinet. They took out the sink and the cabinets. This must be the start of the laundry chute here. I haven't seen what that looks like in the next room. And this is a piece
of sheetrock it looks like because this is gonna get completely sheetrocked and walled off so that this can just be like a normal bedroom and those cabinets will be taken down doesn't look like they did anything with this over here yet but they definitely, definitely, definitely did a good job cleaning up after themselves.
Here is the laundry chute or the start of the laundry chute. So there's going to be a hole here
so we can put things like towels and dirty clothes all down to the basement, which will be really nice. We just went with a simple shaker cabinet. I'm a little bit of a mess because I've been cooking all day and I'm tired, I'm about to change. But we intentionally put this pretty high up off the ground just because for safety, that other things other than laundry hopefully aren't gonna be going down this laundry chute. And then this is incredible. This is huge. It is gonna be
so incredible to have a linen closet. I did not think we were gonna get this and I'm really really happy about it. So we'll be able to put a bunch of shelves up here and a bunch of shelves down here. This thing is massive. It is significantly taller than me. It's probably six feet tall and it's three feet wide, so this will be more than enough for us to put our sheets, our bath towels, like swim towels. We'll be able to have a medicine cabinet up here. I'll be able to put things like my blood pressure cuff and all that stuff.
So really, really excited about this. I am so glad we decided not to just completely waste that space behind that wall. There was a light here that we'd never used, so we took that light out. And there was an outlet down here that we never even used one time. So I am not sad that that outlet and that light are gone. I'm assuming tomorrow they will put some sort of hole

Get started freein the ground and shoot for the laundry to go down and that's really exciting. So we're one step closer to having this space turned back into a laundry room, or turned back into a bedroom. We have been living now with the laundry washer and dryer downstairs for about a month, and not a month, a week, I'm very tired.
Tomorrow I'm completely taking off. I'm not doing any sort of big cooking projects or anything like that. I was going to, but I have noticed I just made six Christmas candies. When I do a big cooking day,
I usually have to take the next day off and just hang out and chill. I might do like computer work or something like that, but very relaxing day. It's been about a week and a half since we've been living with the laundry downstairs. It's been about a week and a half since we've been living with the laundry
downstairs. It's been going fine. Josh actually has been the one carrying all the laundry down, so that's been nice. So once we have the laundry chute, Josh and I can be bringing laundry down to the basement. Good morning. It is early. I just pulled into my doctor's office and I have a few minutes to chat before I head into my appointment. I will be 32 weeks tomorrow and last time we spoke we were doing a house update. So I'm gonna go over a house update, give
you a little bit of footage of what's happening there and then we'll go into how I'm feeling and this appointment. So we were putting in a laundry chute and we were putting in a linen closet. Now when Josh was researching laundry chutes Talking to our contractor he was looking at pre-made ones and they couldn't find anything between the contractor and Josh that would just be like a pre-made one So they were gonna make one up out of a cabinet and I showed you that cabinet
But they hadn't put the hole in and put the chute in. And one thing Josh noticed when he was researching laundry chutes, the only ones that were coming up that were pre-made were industrial ones. And he realized that a lot of, all of them had a fire, like at the bottom there was a, like a trap door
so that it was for fire safety. So if there was a fire on the ground floor or wherever the basement was, then the laundry chute wouldn't be a place for the fire to quickly go up and spread to other parts of the building. And so Josh was talking to the contractor about that about maybe needing to put something like that at the bottom for space safety. and the contractor was doing more research. Laundry chutes are not super common around here because
not everyone has basements and so our contractor doesn't put them in very often and what the contractor realized is that they are not to code anymore because they are a fire hazard even with that trapdoor at the bottom and they can affect your homeowners insurance and obviously they can be a safety hazard for things going down it that are not laundry and that's why we we thought about that because we put it way up high and after yesterday the contractor was talking to Josh and
he profusely apologized and he said we are not comfortable moving forward with putting in the laundry chute and Josh and I agree That if it's not to code and it could mess with our homeowners insurance if it's a safety hazard then that needs to no longer be Installed so the contractor is amazing. We've never used them. This is the first time we use them
but he said he wants to make it right and he is going to patch the hole, make it like nothing happened and not charge us for that because he didn't realize that it wasn't to code. So you can see where they put the laundry chute is now patched and today or sometime they're going to be probably when they finish the wall they will be texturing that and painting it and making it all right. So I am bummed that we're not going to be getting a laundry chute, but I feel okay with that.
That, you know, if it's a safety problem and it's going to mess with our homeowner's insurance, we do plan long-term to put laundry back upstairs. But for now, we will just be carrying laundry down and carrying it up. Many of you guys have suggested a dumbwaiter. I'm not sure how we would go about doing that. And I don't know. I don't know if that would be to code either.
So anyway, that's kind of a bummer, but it is what it is. The second thing you can see that they framed out where the laundry room kind of cut out was and that's going to be drywalled at some point. They have removed those white cabinets. The room feels so much bigger, even though we're actually losing space in that room.
Just having those white cabinets gone, the room feels much more spacious and I'm really excited about my new linen closet. It is huge. It is so much bigger than I was anticipating. The one thing is we did not talk about hardware
and it's very hard to open and close those cabinet doors without hardware. So Josh and I, we were supposed to do it last night. We were supposed to look up hardware so that they can install the hardware, but we, yesterday was very busy and we never got to it.
So probably today we will send over hardware options. And then for me, I'm feeling really good. The biggest thing is I get tired very easily and my sleep is hit or miss. Some days I have really good sleep, some days I'm tossing and turning and I feel like a Costco rotisserie chicken.
But other than that, I feel pretty good. I just have noticed that I definitely, if I do a big cooking project or something than that, I feel pretty good. I just have noticed that I definitely, if I do a big cooking project or something like that, the following day, I am down for a good day. I mean, I still am up and doing things, but it has to be just like puttering around my house,
hanging out with my son, relaxing, you know, very, very chill, minimal type work. And that's okay. So I'm heading into this appointment. When it comes to this appointment, it's just a checkup. But I do wanna talk to the doctor
about induction medications. So many of you guys were so supportive when I had talked about the last update that the potential of induction is real and Many of you guys I really appreciate you saying you had positive induction experiences and what really helped you was learning about the medications the process and knowing what you're walking into so that you can advocate for yourself and so today I have

Get started freeBeen really researching and listening to different doctors and doulas and things like that about the medications they use or the procedures they use and I want to talk to my doctor and ask what they use. Is it standard? Do they, you know, do they look at each individual and kind of base their decisions on each individual case? Or is it kind of like broad, you know, this is what we do for everybody and things like that.
I want to be informed going into that if that is the case. I'm still hoping that I don't have to be induced, but we'll see. So I'm going to head in there and I will be back when I get out. Well that was the easiest appointment ever. I had a new doctor because my doctor is on break right now or on vacation and she was fantastic.
The biggest and really only thing I wanted to talk about today, well one, I got to hear baby which is always good and she sounds good. I'm measuring on time and I want to talk about the induction thing and I'm so appreciative of you all who recommended me research and learn about the medications because I was my biggest concern or question was is it a standard protocol for everyone they get the same medication or do you individualize it
and she said absolutely it's individualized. It's what your body looks like, what they decide to do and what you want. It's very collaborative, which is very, I appreciate that because I feel like if it's a joint decision, then you feel a little bit more in control, even though what's going to happen is what's gonna happen. But it was really nice that I have already started
researching and learning about the different medications and procedures they do to induce labor, because as she was talking about the different medications and procedures, I knew what she was talking about, and I knew some of the risks and benefits and things like that, And so that was very
Empowering so I appreciate those of you that recommended that I start researching sometimes I like to like put my head in the sand and you know, ignorance is bliss But I'm gonna keep researching and she even said Your gestational diabetes is so well controlled that you can wait and see if your body will go into labor Naturally, we can you know wait toward the end and because will go into labor naturally. We can, you know, wait toward the end and because I'm gonna be doing the growth ultrasounds and the stress test, we'll be able to keep a close eye on baby. And so, you know,
just because it is gonna be recommended because it's recommended for everybody doesn't mean that's what's gonna happen, but if it is, I will be more informed which will make me feel empowered going into that situation. Another thing that I've been kind of getting geared up for is I'm starting to think about my hospital bag and I want to buy some new lounge wear and some new clothes
so that after the baby's born and I'm freshly postpartum and with all of the healing and stuff that goes along with that, it'll be nice to have some fresh slippers and cozy wear. And so I think today I probably will hit order. I have a couple different things in my cart.
I've tried looking in stores for stuff like that, but I just haven't been able to find what I want because I'm kind of particular when it comes to clothes. So that's been kind of fun and exciting. And I'm really feeling the need, even though I'm 32 weeks tomorrow,
I'm just really feeling the need to get my house in order. So I'm glad this construction project should be wrapped up. Probably won't be wrapped up this week. It'll probably be wrapped up about halfway into next week. And then I had a baby shower, the baby shower was so wonderful.
Josh brought all that stuff was in my car. Yesterday he brought it downstairs. I'm gonna start washing her clothes. And the furniture, we ordered the furniture, the dresser and the glider and the rug should be here in about two to three weeks
the
Crib, we got a message that it could be here two weeks before she's supposed to be born or two weeks after There's a one month window So it's being delayed which I'm really bummed about because I I would like to have her room completely put together But she will be in a bassinet to begin with so it's not the end of the world I'm glad that at least the dresser should be there in time so I can get all of that set up her clothes Her changing table. I know a lot of people don't use changing tables
But Josh and I certainly use our changing table all the time And so I would be able to get all that stuff set up, so that will be good. So, really good news, I'm gonna keep going with my diet. My diet has been so good, and 90% of the time I'd say I eat very low carb, high protein, high fat,
but I think because I am doing that the majority of the time, I am able to have a little the time, I am able to, you know, have a little bit of dessert on a special occasion and it doesn't seem to be affecting my blood sugars too much because I've gotten two emails since my last appointment from the gestational diabetes nurse that I've been talking with that she just says, keep doing what you're doing. It looks good. And so that is good. So I will see you Probably I'm going to give you an update. I'm going to show you what the room looks like when it's done with the construction
so I will show you updates on that as we go and then I have a growth ultrasound and a stress test Next week. So see ya next time. There's an update to give It's a couple days later since I talked to you, but this was the last thing they did They patched all these holes. They sealed up this wall and so they're just gonna let this dry over the weekend and then they'll come and finish texturing it putting the trim and
Painting they're gonna paint this whole room, which will be really, really nice. It's super echoey in here. I have to say with this gone and with this wall closed up, it honestly feels quite a bit bigger in here. And the nice thing is the floor is not gonna need to be fixed. The floor only went to where the washer and dryer were.
And so it's just perfect that we're not gonna have to where the washer and dryer were and so it's just perfect that we're not going to have to fix the floor. They did not start on this yet. That will be a next week's project. So I'm really excited about this. I have to say it feels bigger in here which is quite interesting because technically there's less square footage in here. This is where the laundry chute was going to be. I showed you what that cabinet looked like. It has now been closed up and they will
Transcribe all your audio with Cockatoo
Get started freesand this, texture it, and then fix the paint when they paint the other room. And in here we have our new linen closet. Don't mind the towels in here, but this I'm super super happy with. Now I can't open and close this cabinet unless I go to the very top of it or down all the way to the bottom because there's no hardware on here. So Josh and I just need to pick out some hardware, but this space is huge. We have put just a couple things in here so already you can kind of see the vision of this. This is our pool towels. We go swimming a lot and then
I've got some sheets in here but this space is huge and I'm super super grateful for it. I'll probably put like our medicine cabinet up here, you know, blood pressure cuff, the humidifier and things like that. Things that we use more often on these little bit lower shelves. So I'm super excited about this. I will keep you up to date as things progress. I just got home after running errands all day with my mom
and the contractors have been working in here all day. Let's see if I can turn this light on. One nice thing is over the weekend, it was a holiday weekend, they had put this paper in when they were working last week and they took up all the paper over the weekend so we didn't have to walk on this, which was really, really nice. I thought that was a really nice detail. And what they worked on today
was getting this room textured. And it looks like they did a good job. Looks really, really good. So they are gonna paint the walls and the trim because they're gonna have to replace part of the trim here but obviously they have to wait for the texture
to be completely dry first. And they're also going to be putting in, this part of the trim never got finished on this closet and they're gonna finish the trim. They're gonna reuse that trim from what was around the washer and dryer and so they will go ahead and just paint all the trim so that it all
matches. So that looks really good. I'm excited about that. I'm gonna go look and see what the laundry chute was gonna be, what that looks like in just a second.
But I want to give you an update. So over the weekend, was gonna be, what that looks like in just a second.
But I wanted to give you an update. So over the weekend, it might be echoey in here because there's no furniture or anything. Josh got an email. I think I had mentioned that the crib was supposed to be delayed.
And I was like, that's okay, because we'll have a bassinet. As long as we have the dresser, I'm okay with it. As much as I would like to be able to have this whole room set up, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. And then Josh got an email saying
the dresser might be delayed as well. So Josh called and was like, is there anything we can do to expedite it? The dogs are wanting to come in here. I don't want them in here because it's dusty. Um, and the lady on the phone said she can see that they have shipped, but she's not sure where they're shipping from.
I don't know.
And she decoupled everything so that as soon as whatever is available can ship, they were all going to be delivered, the dresser, the nightstand, the rug were all going to be delivered together. But she went ahead and I guess decoupled everything so that as soon as the dresser's available, it'll be shipped to our house as soon as the,
so they will come in stages. And so I'm hoping that if they come in stages, we will get them. I would really, really like the dresser because then I can at least put stuff away. I've started washing all her clothes
and I've separated them by size and I would like to be able to put them in there. I know a lot of people don't use a changing table because I've watched a bunch of reels like things you do and don't need. And Josh and I use a changing table.
We like having one spot where we have all the stuff and not that we don't change anywhere else, but we really do like a changing table. And so the dresser, obviously the top part of it, is the changing table. It's not separate. The dresser that we got is just a regular dresser, but you can purchase something, I don't know, to go on the top so that you could turn it
into a changing table.
Then when they get older, you take that off and they just have a piece of furniture. And so I would really like to have that, but if we don't, it'll be okay. So let's go look and see what the texture looks like, where they were able to put,
or where they were gonna put the laundry chute. So that looks just like nothing happened other than it needs to be painted. It doesn't look like there was ever a hole in the wall. So that's good. In here, we also had two holes in the wall

Get started freebecause our shower, our towel racks had fallen off because they weren't in a stud or something. I'm not sure, but the weight of the towels actually made them fall out of the wall. And they, without asking, just went ahead and fixed those holes,
which was, I thought, super, super nice. And this morning, Josh and I figured out what hardware we want for this, so that's gonna be ordered.
And that's very exciting. My dogs are excited because I just got home because I've been gone most of the day
So I'll just keep you guys up to date as this goes on. We have we were supposed to have a growth ultrasound tomorrow but We are having a family dinner tomorrow, so that's not gonna work. So I went ahead and got that rescheduled for Friday. So we have a growth ultrasound on Friday, so we'll see how she's doing. My blood sugar has been able to, I've been keeping that pretty well under control.
And so I'll give you an update next time there's an update to give. Right now I gotta go unload my cart because it has tons of goodies in the back of it. Good morning, friend. I am 33 weeks pregnant yesterday,
and today we are heading pretty early, I was gonna say bright and early, but it still feels kind of dark outside, to a growth ultrasound and my very first stress test. So I guess we are going to be doing growth ultrasounds I think once a week or once every other week
and stress tests every other week, something like that. I feel like up until she's here, I'm going to be living at the doctor's office because I have this appointment and next week I have just a regular OB appointment and this is just how it's going. With my continuous glucose monitor things seem
to be going pretty well. I can tell the farther along I get the harder it is to control so I have to be super on top of it and sometimes I'm like this is no big deal I've got it I know the habits I need to do to do this and then sometimes I get frustrated and I have a little pity party for myself. And especially during the holidays, but overall it's been okay.
But just to let you know that there are moments where I feel like I've got this under control. I can absolutely do this. This is not a big deal. I know what to do. And then sometimes I feel a little bit frustrated
that this is something that I have to deal with,
but that's okay.
I guess going into that, so overall, no new symptoms other than sleeping is getting a little bit more challenging
and more uncomfortable.
I haven't had insomnia. The biggest thing is every few hours I have to rotate because I can only be on one side for so long before That side starts to ache so I have to rotate and that kind of is uncomfortable and wakes me up and then I have to use the restroom and so I Can sleep it's just?
Getting a little bit more uncomfortable it's broken up sleep and Let's see the house the drywalls done. You saw that they painted except there was a little miscommunication On the paint colors and so they got us actually come back and repaint So I will show you what the paint looks like. It looks beautiful. The guy who's been working has done a fantastic job We are so happy with this quality of work
it was miscommunication on our part and miscommunication on their part and they're going to come back and fix it when they come to put the doors in. I've been so happy with this construction company that Josh found. We've had some good experiences with some other people and some pretty bad experiences especially with this house and so we're super glad we found this company because they've been super clean, super attention to detail,
and just really happy with this company that we found. So for example, the doors, I've told you that we're gonna be replacing her doors. He ordered them and he said they do not match the rest of our doors enough, that he's gonna return those
and he's gonna figure out and find some new doors. So whenever those doors get here then they will go ahead and come back and put the right colors in the right spots. There was miscommunication. They painted the wrong colors in our bathroom and where the laundry chute was but in her bedroom I requested a color and then I realized it's not the color I want so we're gonna paint a different color in there

What else?
Oh, yesterday I got really upset about, the furniture not being gonna be here. It was supposed to be here this week, which would give me six weeks basically to get her room completely set up and now it could potentially be here two weeks before she comes or two weeks after she comes and I'm just praying that at least her dresser comes so I can get her clothes and everything set up. If not I'll figure something out but I did have a little bit of a moment last night and I guess
I'm having a moment right now where I'm I'm just kicking myself I didn't order it sooner but when we ordered it it was supposed to be here this week so you know hindsight is always always 20 20 and it is what it is. So we're gonna get to the stress test my family is just finishing getting ready I came out here a little bit early to kind of give you a little update I have no idea what to expect with a stress test and the growth ultrasound we kind of have under control so Josh and my son are coming.
I've got some fun things that he can do while they hang out with us. We are gonna take two separate cars because the stress test is scheduled for an hour. And so I think Josh and my son will hang out during the ultrasound and probably they will head home
for the stress test. Cause I think I just lay there with them putting the continuous monitor on. And my doctor was saying it is more to assess the health of the placenta than anything, I guess. And she's moving around right now.
I can feel her moving. I've got my coffee here. I'm going to sit here and finish this while I wait for them. And then I think we are going to stop on a coffee, at the coffee shop on the way there because that has become our tradition. Just kind of like a fun little family thing.
And I don't have to do any big work today. Today's Friday, I've done a bunch of work this last week. I am having friends come over this weekend, so I'll have to work a little bit this weekend. But today is gonna be just a fun baby day.
Okay.
That appointment took, well, technically it was two appointments, took so long. We left our house at 8.15, we got back at about 12.30, I think.
No, no, no.
I think we got out of the doctor's office at 12.30. We got home at like 1 or something. I don't know It was two appointments. I thought the way that that scheduling was and was completely my own misunderstanding I thought that we had the growth ultrasound first and then we'd meet with the doctor and then the stress test and that way Josh and my son could be there for the ultrasound they could the doctor and then the stress test. And that way Josh and my son could be there for the ultrasound, they could head home,
and then I could sit and wait and do the stress test. But I had it backwards. So the stress test, it was in a room with another woman. And so my son and Josh got to just hang out. Thankfully I brought sticker books and all sorts of fun stuff.
So they had stuff to do do which was the first time I had thought to bring anything like that and so they were able to just kind of hang out and do that while I got to sit and relax for 35 minutes. That was actually really really nice. I'm doing that once a week from here on out and they just hook you up to two little monitors. You can see if you're contracting, they listen to the heart rate.
They need at least 20 minutes of listening to the heart rate and looking at the different patterns they're looking at, but it can take up to an hour depending on, you know, if the baby's napping, all sorts of things, if they have a hard time figuring out where to put the monitor and stuff like that.
So we got it in 20 minutes, but it was dark in there, it was quiet. I just got to hear her heartbeat and it was actually very, very relaxing. So because it only took 20 minutes, we then had some time before the growth ultrasound.
And then we went back for the growth ultrasound. And when I did my first growth ultrasound a month ago, she was in the, now I have to remember, 60th percentile. This two weeks ago, she was in the 55th percentile. And today she is in the 90th percentile.
And the reason I didn't come back and talk to you right after the appointment in the car Like I normally do is because I was actually very very upset about that Because I've been obviously, you know working really hard on keeping my blood sugars down and The the gestational diabetes nurse came in first and she said she had been
"The accuracy (including various accents, including strong accents) and unlimited transcripts is what makes my heart sing."

Get started freetalking to the MFM and she was so nice. She was just like, it's not you, it's not your diet, it's not your blood sugars. She's probably just big. And so, we're really not, I can't change my diet anymore. The blood, the insulin that I take at night is basically keeping my blood sugars perfect at night. We're going to go up by two units, she said, basically just so that we feel like we're doing something. But, so going from 25 units of insulin every night to 27. But that's more just like for our well, like psychological well-being that we feel like we're doing something. And then we're going to do one more growth ultrasound to see at 37 weeks.
And then the MFM came in after I talked to the nurse and she's like, it's nothing. She reassured me because I was upset. Cause I'm, you know, trying to keep my blood sugars good because she's like, it's the growth that she didn't think had anything to do with my blood sugar.
She just think that the baby is growing big. And I had preeclampsia with my son, and he came out pretty small. And she's like, well, maybe your preeclampsia symptoms were starting earlier in the pregnancy. You weren't having high blood pressure yet,
but the placenta wasn't functioning well. And so you just produced a small baby, not because you produce small babies necessarily, but because you know your placenta wasn't working properly. My dogs want to come hang out with me. And they can. We got our Christmas tree set up and our stockings up and our decorations up.
You guys can sit with me.
I feel a little bit better about it now after processing. I got home, I had some lunch. Hey boys, let's just take a breather here. Okay, just a second, I'm gonna let them calm down and then we'll keep chatting. Okay, they've calmed down just a little bit, so we can keep talking. So the MFM was doing the math on
if we take the gestational size of what she is right now and we multiply it what we think she will grow, she recommends that I deliver at 38 weeks and she would be about eight pounds, which is not a huge baby. I mean, obviously it's bigger for a 38,
it would be a larger 38 week gestational baby, but to deliver an eight pound baby is not huge. So now I am feeling like crunch time when it comes to our house. Josh is working on finishing cleaning out the garage. I have a list of things.
I have been going through the kitchen and deep cleaning each of my drawers. I have deep cleaned. We're starting to deep clean out the freezer. I wanna get all this stuff out of the freezer and jar it up.
I want every part of my house clean and organized. And I told Josh on the way home, because we took two separate cars even though we got there and left at the same time. We were talking on the phone on the way home and I was like, da-da-da-da-da-da,
we gotta get all this stuff done because I'm feeling the pressure. I actually have been working on finding some postpartum stuff for myself. I've started ordering some of the supplies I need. I'll go into all that when it all gets here.
I wanted to get some, a new robe. I wanted to get some new lounge wear, just to feel fresh and put together as I can postpartum with all that comes along with it. Some new slippers and stuff like that.
We got an email that the glider is going to be here tomorrow, which is fantastic. So
I'm still just going to pray that the dresser comes before she's here and I can somewhat get her room put together, but it'll it'll all work out. Yeah, it was just a little bit of a bummer that she is on the higher end of the percentile just because I've been working so hard and so it's really nice that my MFM and the nurse was just saying it's it's not anything you can do. Your blood sugars look perfect. And so, yeah, that's where we are now. I think I'm gonna end it here, and then I'll pick up and we'll go over
all the postpartum stuff I'm ordering and the different lounge wear hauls and we'll just keep going. We've got more growth ultrasounds. I am gonna be doing the stress tests once a week. And yeah, so I'll just keep you up to date.
I wanna start putting together my birth plan and or at least just a printed off thing of like what I would like for the, you know, the ambiance of the room. I'm gonna obviously keep it pretty flexible because I've had to be flexible throughout this whole process.
But there's definitely, I know there's some points that I want to have on there and I want to make sure I get that going pretty soon. So I'll go over all that with you and I ordered a new bag to take to the hospital. I just, I wanted, I don't have much control over all the situations, so the little bit of things I can have control over, like, you know, buying some new slippers, ordering a new duffel bag
that I'm excited to take to the hospital, and things like that, I am trying to, you know, cling on to the few things that I do have control over. Normally I'm someone that's like, I don't wanna spend any money on that kind of stuff. But I feel like if it makes me feel

Get started freea little bit more in control and excited and I'll feel a little bit more confident and it'll just make me feel better overall. So that's what I'm doing. So I'll go over all that stuff with you. So I just wanna thank you for being here. I'll give you an update on the room once the
you know it's all all the paint and everything is done properly and the new doors are on and stuff like that. I just appreciate every one of you who's praying for me, who's giving me so much encouragement. I really appreciate everyone who shared your positive birth stories. I've been listening to positive induction birth stories and that's been really, really helpful. Very, very helpful for my peace of mind
because that's probably gonna be my story. And so I, instead of, not instead of, but it's good that I'm filling my brain that, you know, inductions can be smooth and beautiful and less complicated than even my birth that I went into labor naturally.
And so I wanna say thank you for encouraging me to listen to them, because I read a couple of your old comments about that and about learning about inductions and stuff like that. It's been very, very helpful. And I just want to say thank you for being here. So thank you for being you
