BREAKING: US Senate Passes Temporary Stopgap Funding Bill To End Government Shutdown

Okay guys, breaking news. It looks like the Senate just passed a temporary funding bill to fund the federal government until January 30th of 2026. And it's on the way over to the House right now for them to vote on it. And it's looking like it's very possible

they are going to approve it and then it's gonna get signed by the president and then we'll get the government funded again. So here are the kind of terms and some of the provisions within this temporary funding. So it's just a stopgap continuing resolution that's going to fund the government until January 30th. This includes three full year appropriations bills for

military construction, Veterans Affairs, the legislative branch and the Department of Agriculture. Now the one key thing, and I think this is the reason why they were able to get it passed, is the fact that they cut out everything pertaining to the Affordable Care Act and the Obamacare subsidies. And that package is going to be pushed to the right and they're going to have to vote on it again

in December of 2025 with no guarantees of passage, but at least they're able to fund the government now. Some additional provisions in it is it reverses some of the recent firings of federal employees during the shutdown and reinstates affected workers and includes protections against future mass firings.

SNAP benefits are fully funded through fiscal year 2026 to address immediate disruptions as well. The Senate advanced this measure on November 9th in the evening with enough votes to proceed which required at least eight Democratic defections from the filibuster. And like I said, the bill heads to the House for approval before it gets put on the President's desk for him to endorse it. And then the government will be officially funded until January. And then
