CNBC Host HUMILIATES Hakeem Jeffries after Failed Trump Shutdown
American Zone
Hey guys, welcome back to the Zone Media Network. I'm Griffin, your host. So, CNNBC host just humiliated Hakeem Jeffries as he tries to defend his attempt to shut down the United States government. I'm going to be taking a closer look at this contentious interview that resulted in Jeffries looking like, well, a clown. I've also got the latest updates on the government shutdown.
We've got a lot to talk about today, so without further ado, let's get into it. Heard from House Speaker Mike Johnson about the potential for a government shutdown happening later tonight. Joining us right now to discuss it all is House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. And sir, thank you for being with us today. I'm not sure if you heard what Leader Johnson had to say on some of these issues, if you didn't know that can get back to you he said that this is a clean continuing resolution that's been put forth it's the same thing that the democrats voted for thirteen times under biden
that this would keep the house open you could continue that would keep the government open you could continue to negotiate he said that this is being done for pure politics for chuck schumer's backside i think where his exact words on this but you can respond to that, sir?
Well, that's all a lie. It's not a clean, continuing resolution. In December of last year, Democrats and Republicans actually passed a bipartisan bill that was signed into law by President Joe Biden and also had the blessing of then-President-elect Donald Trump. That is the actual baseline of a bipartisan agreement.
What the Republicans are attempting to continue at this point in time is a March partisan Republican spending bill that Democrats in the House of Representatives overwhelmingly rejected because we viewed it as an attack on veterans, an attack on child care, an attack on housing affordability, and an attack on the health care of the American people. It's not a bipartisan spending agreement.
It was a Trump-partisan spending agreement. And we've been very clear, as Democrats we are ready, willing, and able to try to find a bipartisan path forward to reach a spending agreement that actually meets the needs of the American people in terms of their health, their safety, and their economic well-being, particularly in an environment where the cost of living in this country is already too high, America is too expensive, and Republicans haven't lowered costs,
costs are increasing. But we will not support a partisan Republican spending bill that continues
to gut the health care of the American people. The things that Hakeem Jeffries happens to be suggesting are simply not adding up. He says that this is some sneaky Republican agenda to keep the government open when in reality the Democrats have also voted a very similar clean continuing resolution many times before when Joe Biden was president. This is not a sneaky tactic. This is not a partisan agenda by the Republicans either. The reality is that this is an attempt to buy additional time to negotiate and let all of the financial commitments have their
time to determine the pathway forward. There are some valid concerns from Democrats. However, the one and a half trillion dollar health care package that they want to give to illegals and transgenders is not one of their valid concerns. It's not a valid concern. They also seemingly want to restore many of the splashback kickback funds that they had before USAID was disabled by Trump and Doge.
He said on the health care front that there is room for negotiation with the ACA, but he said that that deadline is not until December 31st when the existing tax benefits would fall off. He says that that should be negotiated separately and that they won't do it while there's a shutdown of the government. He also went on to say that this is in writing and from the and that they won't do it while there's a shutdown of the government he also went on to say that the this is in writing
and from the democrats that they want health care for illegal immigrants to be part of this they want to got fifty billion dollars that was included in the big beautiful bill for rural hospitals and that they want money there for corporate public broadcasting as part of this too
the one big ugly bill uh... represented the largest attack on Medicaid in American history, the largest cut ever. Hospitals, nursing homes, community-based health clinics are closing all across America as a result, including in rural parts of the country. That one big ugly bill actually stole food from the mouths of hungry children and seniors
and veterans. And all of this was done so that Republicans could reward their billionaire donors with massive tax breaks and, in the process, skyrocket the deficit by north of $3 trillion. It was entirely irresponsible. It hurts everyday Americans, who we should be standing up for, in order to reward the wealthiest people amongst us.
That's not an acceptable thing. And that's the climate and the environment that we're walking into. That said, we, of course, are willing to try to find that bipartisan common ground. But the urgency, as it relates to the Affordable Care Act tax credits relates to the fact that beginning tomorrow Notices are going to go out to tens of millions of Americans And it's going to be clear to them that their premiums co-pays and deductibles are about to skyrocket
Hakeem Jeffries continues to parade lies all across the fake cable news networks this week as he tries to defend his party's choice. However, when he says that the Democrats are trying to negotiate in good faith, why is his party suggesting that billions of dollars be withdrawn from funding rural hospitals? That doesn't sound like a good suggestion that would benefit health care for the American people, would it?
So here's the truth. They're trying to convince the American people that the Republicans are shutting down the government. They don't buy it. Americans don't buy it. They're the ones voting. No. There's a couple of reasons why they're doing this. For everyone, they think it'll hurt Trump in the midterm elections next November, and that's probably going to backfire at this point, just like everything else that Democrats do at this point, because they play dirty and usually it comes back to bite them in the butt. Does anybody remember how those corrupt cases went?
Didn't go so well for the Democrats, did it? Because if anything, it motivated Republicans to vote while many Democrats were lazy and stayed home. This is just an example of what might happen. Republicans may become more motivated even more so, like if they try to blame this on them. And Democrats don't really have a messaging, I guess coherent thought or a messaging tenet
or one of their core beliefs or something that the American people look at and say, okay I can resonate with that and believe. No, no no no. Many of the progressives are not even unified within the Democratic Party. There's a lot of strifing, a lot of infighting in the Democratic Party right now. It's in complete chaos and Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are humiliating themselves
in public view while all of this goes on around them.
Is it true that you want to restore American taxpayer benefits to illegal immigrants?
Of course not. And thank you for asking that question, because this is also an outright lie. Federal law prohibits the use of taxpayer dollars to provide medical coverage to undocumented individuals. That's the law. And there is nothing in anything that we have proposed that is trying to change that law. We are fighting for the
health care of the American people, fighting to deal with the Republican health care crisis, which included the largest cut to Medicaid in American history. It includes the fact that Republicans have refused to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits time and time again, putting in jeopardy the health care of tens of millions of Americans. It's the fact that Medicare is going to face a five hundred and thirty six billion dollar cut at the end of this year if Congress doesn't act
because of what Republicans did in the one big ugly bill, our fight relates to the fact that hospitals and nursing homes and community-based health clinics are closing. No one in America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, this great country of ours, should die because they can't find a bed or a room at a hospital because that hospital has closed as a result of what has happened with this Republican health care crisis.
And on top of all of that, we see that Republicans have actually launched an assault on medical research in the United States of America in the Republican appropriations bill that is part of this process.
Minority leader, let me just ask you, I'm going back and just looking at this. I think the questions about illegal immigrants getting these benefits go back to a term that's in your proposal that you've put forth that says legally present immigrants are eligible for all of these subsidies. And there's a big question about what lawfully present means. Does that refer to people who are here under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
programs? I guess there's different descriptions of what people see. What does that mean to you, lawful presence?
Would it refer to DACA?
We had a meeting with the President of the United States yesterday and made clear, we're not trying to change current law. We are fighting to protect the health care of the American people in rural America, in suburban America, in urban America, in small town America, in the heartland of America, in black and brown communities all across America. That's what we're doing.
That's what this fight is about.
Okay, so here's another set of lies to fact check from good old Hakeem Jeffries. This CNBC host is surprisingly brought up some language in the proposal that the Democrats drafted and it reads that lawfully present migrants would be entitled to one and a half trillion dollars if the proposal is accepted. What is a lawfully present immigrant? That's not the definition of a US citizen is it?
Jeffries is exposed and his lies just humiliate him on live TV. Any migrant in this country that hasn't become a US citizen or hasn't received some sort of visa is not entitled to legal health care under the law. But if you listened to Jeffries, he'd have you believe otherwise. Oh no, no, that's not true. So it's honestly good news that Trump said no to this offer because it's a bunch of lies and nonsense. They also claim there's a Republican health care crisis, but Jeffrey's own proposal strips billions of dollars from rural health care programs and hospitals.
So to me, it's kind of like the Democratic Party health care crisis. You know, they're the ones doing this. The Democrats have absolutely no credibility anymore. We've already heard the claims that, you know, the Schumer shut down and claims that the Democrats are taking the country hostage. Unfortunately, that's very accurate. Schumer is shutting down the government for many reasons, but primarily because he's trying to pass his progressive agenda,
because he fears the far left of his party, AOC, to be specific. You know, there's rumblings that AOC might be gunning for his job and he's trying to appease her. Jeffries is essentially powerless in the House of Representatives and in these negotiations. President Trump, J.D. Vance, and the Democrats do all agree on one thing though right now, it's very likely the government shutdown is gonna happen. And while we've seen historical trends where the Democrats cave at the final moment, it
may not actually happen this time, At least not for a few days. Trump is rightfully not agreeing to the deal because it's a bad deal, and he's forcing the Democrats to vote no so that it's on their voting record. The American people will see that when the midterms show up, they're going to go, oh look at that, the Democrats voted no. Hmm, guess who I'm going to vote for instead. See what I mean? Like the only exception to that is John Fetterman of the Democrats who actually has like some
common sense because he breaks from his political party when necessary. But unfortunately, though, Republicans need six additional Democrats to vote to keep the government open. And Jeffries is one of the main reasons it's not going to happen, at least for now. And with that, it brings us to the end of today's video here at AmericanZone. Thank you so much for tuning in.
