I Dressed Outside My Comfort Zone for a Week *my anxiety is rising*

I have nothing to wear as I sit.in a closet full of clothes.Maybe you can relate, standing amongst all of your clothes and still feeling like you have nothing to wear to a specific function that you're going to.This week, I'm going to be challenging myself to dress nicely for an entire week, which is gonna push me out of my comfort zone.It is not the first time I've pushed myself out of my comfort zone style -wise, but this is a little bit different because it's going to be everything from my pre -existing closet.I believe I have such cute pieces in my closet, and they are being underutilized by me.

So I really want to try to push past my anxiety of wearing nice pieces, my lack of ability to put outfits together, and I just wanna full send it for an entire week.Let's get into day one.Okay, it's Monday.I spent all weekend organizing my closet.I tried to color code everything so it'd be easy to find.I even moved all of my pants and skirts over here.

They used to be over here.I'm already rambling.

We have literally gotten into it for two seconds.

And I might ramble some more if you'll let me.You may have noticed I am rocking a side part right now.I have it on strong authority that I might be causing myself traction alopecia from having my hair in a middle part for the last month.10 years.So when I was googling about it, it said to start moving your part around.So you might see a lot of different part scenarios for me, but this one is the one I'm rocking today.

I feel like I'm in grade 11 again.

I'm not gonna lie to you.I'm already feeling a little bit stressed out because I have no idea what outfits put together Usually I wear the exact same thing from Monday to Friday while I'm working I literally the exact same items also probably worth mentioning what I'm doing today I have a ton of editing to do like I'm going to plant my butt down at my computer and stay there for eight hours And then I actually have three business calls todaywhich usually I just roll up to a business call No hair, no makeup like bun on the top of my head in my sweatsuit and i'm like hello But today they're gonna see a professional version of me and lastly exciting stuff after work I have to go pick up some rocks and I just switched my clothes over from winter clothes to summer clothes hence things like this being in my closet now I think I should stick to a flowy skirt because if I make myself wear jeans while editing, I might confess.Also when you haven't had a side part in a while, this can make me feel like Skrillex.A ton of the outfits on my Pinterest are little skirts with t -shirts and jewelry and a nice bag.Surely I can do this, right?

I do think it'd be kind of funny to show up to my business meetings in an actual blouse type work shirt.I always say the back of my head is none of my business, but it's becoming my business now that I'm seeing it in this video.Think if I showed up in this, everyone would be like...You've completely lost your mind.What are you doing?Okay, you know what we're gonna do?

We're gonna pick a piece and then we're gonna style around it.We're gonna build off of it.I'm gonna wear a skirt because it's dressy but comfortable and cute.I got it at a farmer's market while I was on vacation last year.It's kind of cottony, linen -y.

We're gonna start there.

I can't remember how high -waisted it is, but if it's kind of high -waisted we could pair it with this.Stay with me.Okay, I think that looks good.I'm notorious for putting together full blue outfits because I was just reaching for jacket and I was thinking maybe this one maybe this are you seeing my dilemma it's always like okay you get two pieces put together it's all fun and games and then you have to accessorize it that's where I lose myself is that a good option tell me why are you guys being so quiet all of a sudden I have these shoes which I feel like could be kind of cute and casualI also have sandals.I don't really know which would look best with this outfit.

Shoes are kind of my crux.I don't know what shoes to wear ever.Maybe that's a little better, because it goes with my shoes.Maybe like a cute little white bag.This is all so thrifted.Okay, we need to grab some jewelry.

Okay, here we are in my jewelry.So I think it'd be cute to find a necklace.okay i'm getting called to these green ones i don't know why maybe because the outfit's really neutral i could add a pop of color maybe we'll go for those and then maybe should we do this youtube one i don't know we'll take it i was called to these I feel like I look like businessy, but like not in a good way.Like businessy in like a I'm confused way.

I think the skirt's throwing it off.I think I need a different skirt, which is unfortunate because this was the skirt that started the whole thing, but maybe this skirt.

It's a little bit like lower waisted.I'm going to go with this just because I actually need to get on a call like in five seconds here.So we're going to go with this.And I can guarantee you people are going to make mention of this because nobody sees me done up like this.

Okay, so obviously this was the first outfit that I wore while trying out, dressing nicely for an entire week.I don't know if it's just because I knew I was dressed up, but I genuinely felt like people were listening to me more in my business meeting calls that I had that day.I was genuinely presenting something on a call that I thought would be turned down, and they were totally into it.And I don't know if it's because of my outfit, or if it was because it was a good idea.I genuinely don't know.Okay, I just got off a work call and I gotta find a sample of fabric.

Sometimes when we're making something, it's like 15 samples.before we actually get to something that I like, because I'm extremely picky.And I'll admit that, I'll be the first to admit that.Here they are.

I knew you were somewhere.

I don't know if it's me just fixating, but I feel like people are taking me more seriously on my calls.Could it be the outfit?Probably.It genuinely makes me want to do one of those tests where it's like you fall in public all done up and glam versus falling in public, not done up at all.And who will help you?Because that's the like extreme scale of how I felt in this outfit.

Okay, these are gluten -free, sugar -free muffins.So you just know they're gonna be really, really, really bad.

Guys, we're discovering why I can't wear nice things.I spilled a giant spill of blueberry on me.Thank gosh my beautiful jacket wasn't on.

Feels pretty glam to be walking on the treadmill in this, but I can't sit all day.

So yeah, an interesting first take of dressing nicely, for sure.i have to get dressed in record time i meant to plan my outfit last night so that i wouldn't have to plan it this morning because i'm in a rush but i didn't do that so i reap what i sow and i gotta do it fast now i have some tests that i have to get done at the hospital so i cannot be late and usually when i have an appointment at the hospital i look the way i feel bad sad to be at the hospital so this is gonna be a severe upgrade like it doesn't have to be super sleek and elegant it just has to be better than what i usually wear like i'm feeling pulled to these shoes is that a bad idea maybe like a beautiful red shirtMaybe something like this.Okay, here.I feel like we can doll it up a little bit with accessories, but I'm gonna also put these shoesies on.Would I be so bold as to match my shoe to my bag?

Okay, that's not a perfect match, but like, they'll be far enough away from each other that people might think that.

I thrifted these puppies and I haven't worn them since, so this is pretty exciting.They're kind of like funny little clown shoes.I think they're cute.Also, look at all these cute little charms.I have this one this little calico critter My friend for my birthday made these with the lip balm and look inside the locket is chip How cute is that just so everybody knows I didn't have friends like that until adulthood I didn't know friends like this existed.So okay, that's kind of cute.

Let's look at some accessories okay, so Like something like this could be cute.It's got little cherries on it.Maybe I should do that.Actually, maybe I'll wear a ring maybe that one Ring oh my gosh, all my fingers are like exploded I have the broken finger the inflamed finger and this finger is just too big.

Where am I supposed to put this?

All my rings don't fit my fingers.

Great.Yesterday, the earrings actually didn't bother my ears, which was a triumph.So we'll see how these ones fare.

Look at that.It's kind of a simple outfit for the day, but it's still a lot more dressy than what I would usually do.And I think that's cute.

I just feel like anytime I'm wearing jewelry, I'm like, I am the most glam person alive.Okay, here's the outfit.

And when I get to the hospital, I'm going to have to put on one of those robes anyways.Also, by the way, I'm not spending the whole day at appointments, I then will come home and do a little bit of filming and some editing.Sometimes you guys ask me what I do on a day -to -day basis.I literally just work 9 to 5, and then I will go to the grocery store, make dinner, play with Chip, watch TV, and that's pretty much it.Then I repeat.Yeah, you're kind of witnessing that, but witnessing it in cute outfits.

So usually, as you can imagine, when I go to the hospital to get tests done, I don't really get ready to go.I just get in and get out as fast as I can.So it was definitely a first, spending that long getting ready to go to do my tests.

Also, if anybody thinks this isn't dressed up, just remember that I'm wearing jeans right now.

At first glance, it's like a t -shirt and jeans.But it's more dressy than I would usually go which probably some of you are like, uh, what would you usually wear?And if you're asking that trust me You don't want to know what I would usually wear and at the hospital I had to wait for a little bit cuz I got there early guys I got put in a chair where my feet and so my feet were just like swinging with the little shoes.I felt like a child I will be wearing this shirt and earring combo again I never thought to put these together for some reason but they are so cute and the amount of compliments I got on those little raspberry earrings people thought I genuinely had raspberries in my ears like they thought they were real raspberries and I was like No.Okay, I'm home now and I've been sat at my computer for about two minutes and I'm already festering in anger in my jeans.How in the world do people wear jeans while working?

I'm just gonna try to lock in to the editing and hope that I forget.

Like is it just me or is the back of my head getting worse?I'm kind of drawn to this because it's feeling Shrek esque.I don't know what to wear with it on the bottom though That's usually where all my hang -ups are.It's like I have a piece I want to wear but I have no idea how to wear it how quickly i get disheartened in here like this shouldn't be so difficult for me i also kind of like this dress almost 80 % of the items in my closet are from thredUP which by the way you probably noticed you're not seeing any thredUP sponsorships this year thredUP and i had scheduled some but then they Honestly, it does suck because I genuinely love thread up but just because they aren't sponsoring me this year does not mean I'm gonna stop talking about them because my love for thread up far exceeds our Sponsorship and even if they stop working with me, I'm still gonna talk about them because I love them This is from thread up.So I think I'm gonna maybe wear this Maybe we'll just put that on and see what we think see how cute that is. I think this is adorable It's very wrinkly.I should probably iron it all my clothes are so so wrinkly when I put them on it genuinely looks like I just pulled it from a ball on the floor and a lot of times that is true that is what I did but instead of pulling out an iron I just deal here's the whole look it genuinely feels like a tablecloth in the best way possible I love the little bow on the back so I think we're gonna base the outfit around this because this is nice and I don't like wearing pants unless they're sweatpants jeans yesterday taught me a lesson I'm not doing that again.

For shoes, we have a few options.

Actually funny story about these My mom was actually on vacation at a farmer's market and one of you Was selling pretty earrings and they came up to my mom and they were like, oh my gosh.I love you And then they gave her these I'm pretty sure they gave her them to give to me So I have them now by the way each day.I'm just wearing my earrings as long as I can I have like sensitive ears So I usually can't wear earrings all day, but I'm wearing them as long as I can okay.Here's my full outfit I really like the pop of yellow with this dress, and I love this dress It's such a simple cut But it's really pretty and I do like the ad to cinch the waist in the center, and I love the neckline I just think it's so Pretty also my squeaky shoes.That's the sound of my toenails scratching against them I feel so dressed up like I'm going to a ball or something Dresses are something that I want to start wearing more and more of because they not only look really nice and petitebut hello, it's super comfortable not wearing pants.

I think I battle a little bit with like feeling out of place when I'm too put together because I feel like I'm not a super put together and proper person.i feel so dressed up to be doing this i'm also flashing every step of the way that's the problem so when i wear something proper and pretty i don't like feel like myself but i really love the way it's comfortable and put together and comfortable most importantly did i say that twice i probably did probably not the best angle in a dress but i'm about to lock in for probably four and a half hours and finish this video once and for all So this is a thrifted dress that I've been kind of having in my closet for a while and haven't worn.And now that I pushed myself to wear it in this video, I feel like it's gonna be one of my dresses that I wear a lot this summer.Oh my goodness, I forgot.Look at this cute wrapping paper.I just wrapped my mom's gift.

I threw a pottery mug and then I commissioned a picture of Chip and Scooby to be painted on it.Now I just have to figure out Right in a card.Look how cute that is.And I actually did go out with my outfit.I needed to go somewhere with my dad to help him pick out a gift for mom.I wore it out and about.

So yeah, I really, really love this.I think it's the perfect picnic dress.Side part McGee.Today is exceptionally hard to pick an outfit that isn't 100 % comfortable.

Because I got my period.

but the show must go on, so let's do it wouldn't it be nice if i wore red pants then if i bleed through my underwear no one will know cause my pants are already red maybe i should wear these or should i mess around and wear white just to create problems for future generationsdoing laundry to get blood out of my skirt yeah that is fun I'm in a musical space right now.I woke up, genuinely woke up singing a song that I don't know where it came from.I think I wrote and composed it in the night.

But now for some reason I can't remember what it was.Don't be afraid.

My thought process was there's red in here, but there's also this blue.That kind of looks good, right?Rather than a white runner, wrap your head around this pop of red.Go with the pants to alert everyone to tread lightly because I'm on my period.Not to be basic, but I'm thinking a black purse.

We need earrings.We're looking for something kind of red or kind of blue.

Not these, not these.I do like these, but unfortunately, I can't get them into my ears.I don't know why.These are kind of cute.They've got the red little tulips.I actually bought these on Etsy, and then I saw something very similar on Timu, so hopefully I didn't get had by an Etsy seller in a small business.

I actually made these.I basically lived the real life version of what I'm trying to deter in those videos we make.I don't know if I'm built to wear big gold chains.I don't think so.Here's my outfit.It's more businessy than I was going for but you know what?

I got a lot of work to do So and the red shoe is a cute pop and I love these pants.They're just so comfortable If you don't have a pair of trouser pants, I suggest checking them out.I thrifted this pair I actually thrifted these shoes these pants and this shirtBut they're a really nice addition to your closet if you don't like wearing tight or uncomfortable or rigid jeans.Trousers are a nice option.I'm gonna go downstairs and go in the computer now for like eight hours.

Going into this video, some of my main points of contention with my closet was jackets and And shoes.If I'm cold, I throw on a jacket and it like ruins the whole look or I finish the whole outfit and the shoes are kind of messed up.So I really was trying to focus on like how to put pieces together.And I feel like this jacket has been a really good addition to my closet because it's kind of a color pop, but it's also neutral.Usually when I film, I try to make my top half look really cute, but then I don't really worry about the bottom.So today I feel very dressed up.

All this to say, I'm pleased with this jacket in my collection.I think because of this jacket, I could get rid of a few other ones because this one sort of fills the space of other jackets that I have.And I like the color, although not my color palette, I'm still gonna wear it.Just so everyone knows, I do consider my color palette while I'm shopping, but I don't let it completely deter me from things that I like.I'm still gonna wear dusty blue, even though apparently it looks horrible on me. I still like it.Okay team listen to me, okay, you can trust me look it you can trust me here's the outfit I'm rocking with right now.

I could not be bothered to get looking good until I'm done Superman Wait, what is Superman's kryptonite?Work my kryptonite is blood work.So I'm going in looking like this and then I'll be back and I'll dress nice Okay, I can't be bothered to dress nice for this I just need to get this over with so one second because you'll seein a minute and I'll feel a lot better.The technician missed twice.I'm going for kind of a street style today.

It's been interesting wearing earrings every day because I don't, outside of filming, wear much jewelry at all.So it's been...Fun, honestly.I'm re -remembering why I have so many cute earrings.Earrings matching the shirt, fun.This is the outfit.

So I'm gonna take it easy on the jewels I do think it would be fun to wear wine bottles almost just to camp out this outfit a little bit You know, I just realized I'm wearing almost white lineny pants on my period I am living on the edge right now.Sometimes I feel like when I'm dressed really nicely I can't be myself because I don't feel like myself because me there's a spider just walking on the wall.It's a spider fightery day in here because I don't feel like myself when I'm all dressed up and I feel like I have to be more reserved when I'm wearing a nice outfit.I'm trying to keep in mind being myself even though I might feel out of my comfort zone.Here's my full outfit.Here's the spider walking on the wall.

I love these pants.I feel like they're the type of pants that are permanently wrinkly.That's fine by me.This is probably the most dressy outfit of the week, but it's also the outfit where I'm not working, so I can step it up a little bit.So here it is. I could very much feel myself being nervous about this outfit.Every ounce of my being wanted to wear something a little more in my comfort zone, but I am so happy I wore it because I feel like it was very on theme for a nice lunch.

My whole family commented on the outfit and said how cute it was, which is always nice.And I feel like when it comes to pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, I obviously have done it to the extreme on this channel, as you guys have witnessed.But I feel like in day -to -day, when you're kind of pushing yourself, you don't want to go too far, you know?You don't want to put yourself in a really stressful situation.But I know I love blue, and I know I love stripes.So this outfit was kind of a calculated out of my comfort zone, because honestly, On paper it should be good, but it was still making me nervous.

But once I wore it, now I love it and I'm excited to wear it again.I am so over dressing nicely.So happy this is the last day.I can't wait to hop back into my sweatpants.Actually wearing some right now.I am gonna go with a bang.

I found this outfit on Pinterest.I think I can recreate it somewhat I think it's gonna look really strange, but you just have to hear me out Okay, we're going into uncharted territories the shorts.I just realized I'm wearing the shorts that are in here I actually purchased a brand new pair of shorts because I put on my jean shorts from last year They didn't fit not even close.Okay, so hear me out.So we got these loose baggy jean shorts.Now, this is the part I need you to hear hear me out wearing them with these Mary Jane shoes and then a little something like this I don't know you know how the youngins are all doing this like I got dressed in the dark aesthetic where it's like nothing goes together but like somehow it's in style that's how I feel in this outfit i don't think this is working is this horrible or what maybe this shirt would be better i thrifted this it has like a cute big sleeve let me try this one on because i feel like this one's a little too like western okay let's see maybe the belt is what we need okay weird outfit It's definitely strange.

I feel like this looks horrible, obviously.I think this bag might be better.This bag kind of goes with everything.This is from one of my other stylist videos.I would never have purchased this bag if it wasn't for the stylist saying that I needed it, and I do wear it a lot, so I'm happy I have it, but this is a weird outfit.I'm wearing it anyways, and I know it looks bad, because I'm at my breaking point.

I am just looking for like a little silver necklace.This could be cute too.Actually, I'll grab that Maybe I'll grab this just in case.I feel like I should wear my spongebob necklace because I'm giving very high.

Honestly, I don't know.I thought we'd be going out with a bang I think we might be going out with a whimper, but that's fine.Okay, here's the outfit.Please ignore the laundry I've always wanted to wear these little shoes, and I didn't really know how to dress them, and I still don't know how to dress them, obviously, because I feel like this is definitely giving SpongeBob, but we're gonna work with it.This outfit, all things considered, was very, very comfortable.Still kind of on the edge if this is, like, a chic outfit, or if I just look like SpongeBob, but no matter what, from waist up, it's very business -y, so it works good for what I'm doing today.
