And by the time this flight reached the airport, 38 transit passengers got off this flight and about 58 passengers boarded this flight. Out of these 58, 4 terrorists also boarded this flight. And after a while, they were about to hijack this plane. When these 4 terrorists entered this plane, like a normal passenger, 2 terrorists sat in the first class

and 2 sat in the economy class. It was 12 o'clock and this flight had to leave for Paris. So, they took off on time. And after about 8 minutes of take off, when the plane reaches Gulf of Koryant area, the two first class passengers, who were sitting in the front, suddenly take up a pistol and a grenade in one hand,

and quickly go towards the cockpit where the pilot was. When they were going, the cabin crew and some passengers started screaming. Even now, the people in the back section didn't know what was happening in the front. Now, there was a pilot, a co-pilot and a chief engineer in the cockpit. And when the sound of screaming was heard, the pilot, Captain Michael Bacos, asked the chief engineer to go outside and check what was going on.

Now, as soon as the chief engineer leaves the cockpit, a terrorist, whose real name was Wilfried, puts a gun on his head and holds a grenade in his other hand and enters the cockpit. And he sits on the seat of the co-pilot. And the rest of the chief engineer and co-pilot were shot dead by the hijacker.

The main terrorist Wilfried, pointed his gun at the pilot and said, Turn this plane towards the south. And do as I say, if you do as I say, you will be fine. But if you don't listen to me, I will shoot you. So, the pilot turned the plane towards the south direction, that is, towards Libya. Now, when all this happened, at the same time, the two hijackers in the economy class, Jail and Faze,

also took the guns and grenades and took the passengers behind them under control. And within 2-3 minutes, the plane comes under the control of these hijackers. And after that, the main hijacker announces the plane hijacked from the cockpit and says that he is the captain and the plane will be called Haifa and if you say what we say, there will be no problem but if you don't obey our orders, we will blow up the plane

and he repeats the same message in French These 4 hijackers, 2 of them, Jail and Faiz were from the PFLPEO group which was fighting against Israel for the freedom of Palestine. And the other 2 hijackers, Bridget and Wilfred, were from the revolutionary cells of Germany. This group was fighting against the will of America and the powerful western countries in Germany and other places.

So, they were also supporting the Palestinian fight for freedom. So, in this hijacking, these two groups came together. Because the people of these two groups were locked up in different jails around the world. Most of them were in the Israel jail. So, to get them released, these four hijackers hijacked this plane. They will now come forward and will also keep their demands. Now, the plane will fly for a while and then at 3 o'clock, this plane will'clock, it reaches Benghazi, Libya's airspace.

After reaching the airspace, the pilot informs the ATC of the situation that the plane has been hijacked. There is not much fuel left in the plane. This airport had a new terminal on this side and an old terminal on the other side. The old terminal was being used less after the new terminal was built. The old terminal area is very important. Now, after the plane lands in the Antibay of Uganda, the hijackers go to the old terminal area. They talk to the officers of Uganda. No one knows that. After a while, they make a line from the plane and take all the passengers towards Old Terminal.

When all the passengers were going, the army of Uganda and the hijackers were guarding both sides. And all the passengers were going towards Old Terminal from the middle. There was a waiting hall inside Old Terminal. All the passengers are taken there. It's not like the hijackers were handling the passengers after reaching the hall The army of Uganda had formed a relief team

When the hijackers were resting upstairs, they were handling the passengers And a little later, Idi Amin comes inside the hall and gives speeches to all the passengers Basically, at this time, Idi Amin wanted to tell that he is a mediator And he is doing all this out of helplessness so that the passengers are safe. Now, after a while, the hijackers don't wait for long. They make a list of their demands. In their demand, it was that the 53 people in their group who are in jail, out of which 40 are in Israel's jail and the rest are in jail in France,. They should be released immediately. They should be given 5 million dollars. As soon as they get it, they will release all the passengers. After giving all the demands,

they were given a deadline of 1 July at 2 pm. If all these things are not done by this time, they will kill all the passengers. Then on the same day, 29th June 1976, all these demands reach Israel and other countries through the government of Uganda. After a short while, the hijackers announce the names of all the passengers with their passports. The Jews from Israel were separated into a group. And the non-Israelis were separated into a group.

All the Jews and Israelis were shifted to another hall. All the Israelis were on one side, but there was one Israeli who had dual citizenship. So he was traveling on a non-Israeli passport. So he was the only one left, otherwise all the Israelis, even though they were US citizens, but if they were Jews, they were also being transferred to the Israeli group. So this way, they divided all the passengers into two groups.

Only one passenger got very sick at that time. So at that time, he was transferred to a hospital in the city of Uganda. The rest of the passengers were here. And this passenger who went to the hospital, it will be very difficult for her to go to the hospital. I will tell you later why I am saying this. After this, nothing happens for a long time. Then it gets dark and the next day comes.

30th of June 1976. On this day, this non-Israeli group, in which some people were sick, mothers were with the children, some were senior citizens. They sent them to Paris in a plane. There were 12 crew members and they were also being sent.

But the crew members refused to leave their passengers and go anywhere. Now, the reason why the hijackers sent these non-Israeli passengers to Paris was that their entire plan would fail and they would lose their lives. Now, the hijackers were doing all these things in Uganda. On the other hand, Israel was in a completely different environment. From war room briefings to cabinet level meetings, the entire security ecosystem, Mossad, Shin Bet, IDF key planners, air force strategists, cyber units, intelligence analysts, were planning to deal with these hijackers day and night.

And at the same time, they made different plans and started military drills. If there was to be an immediate response at any time, an emergency committee was formed. Along with this, a fast intelligence team was set up. This team had only one task, to collect every detail of the location where the hostages and hijackers are. Where is the entry, where is the exit, how many hijackers are there, which weapon is in their hands. But when all these discussions were going on in the meeting itself, the Israeli Defense Minister, Shimon, he would go crazy. He would clearly say that if we release these terrorists from our jail, then there will be more damage. So in our jail, it will cause more damage. And in the future, they will cause more damage. We will appear weaker in front of the world.

So, with this, a conflict started between the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister. But then it was decided to make a plan, put it forward and see what could be done. Now, all these things happened and the date of 1st July came. And on this day morning, there is an emergency meeting in Hakria, Tel Aviv. In this meeting, Chief of Staff Gurp, Defence Minister Shimon and PM Rabin,

and in front of them, Israel's Brigadier General Dan. They come up with three plans that we can get our passengers released by doing three military operations. The first was that there was a Lake Victoria near Entebbe Airport.

The Israeli naval commandoes would go by boat and then enter the old terminal of the airport and kill the hijackers. And then surrender to Uganda. The second was to drop the parachute to the paracommandoes and they would get down, go inside and kill the hijackers. And the third was that in a civil plane, the airport next to it, all the people should go inside the civil plane,

follow the rules, and all the Israeli commando hide in that plane and kill all the hijackers and release their hostages. But as soon as the presentation ends, the higher authority rejects all these three plans. Because the problem with these three plans was that the planning of entering was very good, but after killing the hijackers,

the exit strategy of coming back was unreliable. Like there were a lot of crocodiles in Lake Victoria, it was't mentioned. On top of that, the exit plan in these three plans depended on Idi Amin. In these three plans, it was assumed that when Idi Amin kills the hijackers, he will support them. They had a doubt about Idi Amin, that he is involved.

So, what will he do later? We cannot make our plan on that basis. So, that's why all three plans were rejected. After the meeting, Brigadier General Dan asked for more time to make a good plan. In which the government of Uganda doesn't have any dependency on them. And on the same day, i.e. 1st of July 1976, they start a negotiation with the hijackers. This negotiation was basically to buy some time to make a plan.

So, they use their diplomatic channels to send a message that we are ready to accept all your conditions but there are so many prisoners and they are in different countries. So, it would take 2-3 days to get them released and brought to you. Now, at the same time, there was a coincidence that E D Amin wanted to go to Mauritius to hand over the chairmanship of OAU.

So, he also wanted to extend the time. It would be good for him. After multiple discussions, the matter is settled. The date is extended to 4th July at 2 PM. It is said that if you don't handover till 4th July at 2 PM,

and don't fulfill their demand, then all the passengers will be killed. E D Amin comes in front of the media and makes a proper announcement and says that I have already sent some passengers to Paris and I have sent them back to India and I have extended the date by talking to them again

In which entry, exit, everything is under their control. And everyone likes this plan. In their final plan, rather than going to some commandoes and killing the hijackers,

instead of that, without informing Uganda, without informing the other countries, a huge Israeli commando team of more than 100 people should go under the radar. They should quietly reach the airport of Uganda without informing anyone. They should take over the entire airport. And they should take over in such a way that if the army of Uganda comes,

if a war situation arises, they can deal with it. And when they kill the hijackers, they take control of the whole area and get all the passengers released and take them back to Israel. Now see, the plan that was finalized, which everyone liked, there was not much wonder in this plan. Or it was not that it was never thought of. The most important thing about this plan, which made this plan an extraordinary plan, was that speed played a very important role in this whole plan. Step by step, a speed was decided that the entire plan should be executed at a particular speed.

Only then, in an enemy country, you can execute the plan without his consent. That's why this operation was named Operation Thunderbolt. It has to be done like lightning speed. Only then will it be successful. So, on 3rd of July, 1976,

at 6.30 pm, the Israeli government gets approval to execute this plan. Preparation was already underway on all the models. And it is fixed on 3rd July that this plan will be executed at 11 pm tonight. Because if it is done during the day, there will be a fear of getting caught. And the deadline was the next day. So, it was decided to execute this executed at 2 pm. So on one hand, the hijackers were happy that the Israeli government had agreed

and only a few hours were left for the group to meet at 2 pm. But on the other hand, the Israeli commandoes were about to leave with the plane in a few hours to kill the hijackers in Uganda. Now see, the distance from Israel to Uganda is more than 4000 km So no matter how much refueling they do in these planes, they have to get refueling done at one place So they secretly got permission from Kenya that after the operation is completed, refueling will be done from Kenya After all these things are set, these four planes start flying from the area of Sharm al Sheikh at 11 am. Two Boeing 707s follow them. One of them was to be kept as a backup in Kenya. The other was given the task that if the operation is in the final stage, so if needed, keep an eye on that area. So after all these things are set, they take the international flight route from Red Sea

and after a while, when they are at half distance, they fly at a very low altitude under the radar. First they reach Utopia, then Kenya, then through Lake Victoria, they start moving towards NTB airport. Their plan was that one of the four planes

will land first and the rest would land after receiving the signal The first main plane to land was the main paratrooper team, who had Matkal team, which was led by Yoni Netanyahu. Yoni Netanyahu was the elder brother of the current Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. And this operation that will be executed later, there was a big reason for it. The third plane had reserve paratroopers. Their job was to get out of the plane and destroy all the mixed planes of the Uganda Air Force. This was decided so that in case when these four planes were bringing all the passengers, the Uganda Air Force could not attack them. The fourth plane had an evacuation and medical support team. And along with this, they had a plane of 10 people for refueling the plane

so that you can understand the whole operation. This is the new terminal and this is the new runway. This is the new ATC tower. This is the old terminal. All the hostages are in this old terminal building.

The entire operation Thunderbolt is going to happen in a few minutes. At that time, the old terminal was not used, it was empty. Only hostages, hijackers and all this was there. Here, the old ATC tower you are seeing, the soldiers of Uganda were standing on it. And this is its old runway. Apart from this, there is also a military runway in it.

And here, 11 MiG fighter jets of Uganda Air Force are standing on its side. This is Victoria Lake in the south of the airport. This is where Israel had landed all its planes one by one. So now, the planes had reached this area from here.

Operation Thunderbolt has begun, marking a critical turn in the unfolding international crisis. Reports indicate that Israeli forces have launched a coordinated late-night mission at Entebbe Airport.

Now their plan from here was that all these commandos, the car with which E.D.Ameen used to come to the airport, by making his own convoy, just like that, they will make a fake convoy, in which exactly the same cars will be there, the same numbers will be there,

the same flags will be there. And in this fake convoy, all these commandos had fake numbers, fake flags, everything as it is. Which matched the actual convoy of Idi Amin. So, the whole convoy was made and Yoni Netanyahu and his core team, 29 commando and 52 paratrooper, sat in it and completed all the things in 30 seconds to 2 minutes. And then they made a fake convoy and started moving towards the old terminal. And when they were moving forward slowly, at the same time, the remaining 3 Israeli planes
