The 11 MIG fighters of Uganda were blown up in a single shot. Benjamin Netanyahu's being the PM was a huge blow to Operation Thunderbolt. Netanyahu's elder brother Yoni Netanyahu would not have been the head of Operation Thunderbolt. Female hijacker takes a grenade and a pistol and suddenly gets on the plane. Mossad made a fake Mercedes and Rovers and took them off.
Idi Amin was asked to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. This man is eating the flesh of humans. Lake Victoria has huge crocodiles. How will Mosad reach there? He goes under the radar, turns off the lights, and turns off two engines and goes down. First, he picks up the Israelis and separates them. The Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, was to take off on June 27, 1976 at 9 am for, Air France flight AF139 was to take off for Paris. It was not a direct route. There was a stop in Athens, Greece, from where some other passengers had to board.
This flight had more than 246 passengers from multiple countries. But since the flight was from Israel, it had mostly Jewish passengers. So when all the onboarding is done, as per schedule, this flight takes off from Tel Aviv at 8.59 in the morning. Now when this flight takes off, no passenger had any idea what was going to happen to them in the next few hours.
So after walking a little distance, at around 11.30, this flight takes its next stop in Athens, Greece as per schedule. So here this flight lands in Greece. On the other side, at the same airport, 4 people hide guns and hand grenades in their cabin bags and enter the airport, avoiding the security check. At that time, the airport security was very loose.
So, at this airport, the metal detector was not working. No one was scanning the x-ray screen from above. So, because of this, these 4 people, one of whom was a female, hide guns and hand grenades. After getting entry, these 4 people take the same flight, AF139, which had just landed.
And by the time this flight reached the airport, 38 transit passengers got off this flight and about 58 passengers boarded this flight. Out of these 58, 4 terrorists also boarded this flight. And after a while, they were about to hijack this plane. When these 4 terrorists entered this plane, like a normal passenger, 2 terrorists sat in the first class
and 2 sat in the economy class. It was 12 o'clock and this flight had to leave for Paris. So, they took off on time. And after about 8 minutes of take off, when the plane reaches Gulf of Koryant area, the two first class passengers, who were sitting in the front, suddenly take up a pistol and a grenade in one hand,
and quickly go towards the cockpit where the pilot was. When they were going, the cabin crew and some passengers started screaming. Even now, the people in the back section didn't know what was happening in the front. Now, there was a pilot, a co-pilot and a chief engineer in the cockpit. And when the sound of screaming was heard, the pilot, Captain Michael Bacos, asked the chief engineer to go outside and check what was going on.
Now, as soon as the chief engineer leaves the cockpit, a terrorist, whose real name was Wilfried, puts a gun on his head and holds a grenade in his other hand and enters the cockpit. And he sits on the seat of the co-pilot. And the rest of the chief engineer and co-pilot were shot dead by the hijacker.
The main terrorist Wilfried, pointed his gun at the pilot and said, Turn this plane towards the south. And do as I say, if you do as I say, you will be fine. But if you don't listen to me, I will shoot you. So, the pilot turned the plane towards the south direction, that is, towards Libya. Now, when all this happened, at the same time, the two hijackers in the economy class, Jail and Faze,
also took the guns and grenades and took the passengers behind them under control. And within 2-3 minutes, the plane comes under the control of these hijackers. And after that, the main hijacker announces the plane hijacked from the cockpit and says that he is the captain and the plane will be called Haifa and if you say what we say, there will be no problem but if you don't obey our orders, we will blow up the plane
and he repeats the same message in French These 4 hijackers, 2 of them, Jail and Faiz were from the PFLPEO group which was fighting against Israel for the freedom of Palestine. And the other 2 hijackers, Bridget and Wilfred, were from the revolutionary cells of Germany. This group was fighting against the will of America and the powerful western countries in Germany and other places.
So, they were also supporting the Palestinian fight for freedom. So, in this hijacking, these two groups came together. Because the people of these two groups were locked up in different jails around the world. Most of them were in the Israel jail. So, to get them released, these four hijackers hijacked this plane. They will now come forward and will also keep their demands. Now, the plane will fly for a while and then at 3 o'clock, this plane will'clock, it reaches Benghazi, Libya's airspace.
After reaching the airspace, the pilot informs the ATC of the situation that the plane has been hijacked. There is not much fuel left in the plane. There are not many options other than landing in Libya, otherwise, there could be a crash. After a little discussion, the plane is given permission to land in Benghazi, Libya. After landing, the hijackers, who are not afraid, leave the plane, meet some officers from Libya,
and the passengers are given food. One of them, a hijacker, enters the plane, takes all the passports and documents of the passengers, and starts stamping the visa. The whole process was happening as if no hijacking had taken place. The plane stays in Libya for 6-7 hours, refueling and then it flies.
And as soon as the plane flies, the hijacker tells the pilot to turn south towards Uganda. And the hijacker, who is a normal captain, announces everything in the same way. So he announced that now this plane will land in the Antibes of Uganda. The passengers who were already scared of Uganda are even more scared. Especially Israeli passengers. No one knew what was going to happen next.
And when you don't know what's going to happen next, you are most afraid. Because uncertainty makes you powerless. We try to make things uncertain in our lives. But reality is different. You must have seen around you that if a family's sole earner suddenly leaves, the family doesn't know what will happen next.
On top of that, the financial crisis increases this problem further. At such times, only one thing is useful for the family, pure term insurance. Many people take such plans in the name of term insurance, which mix protection and investment. It has more premium, less cover and the real purpose of insurance is over. Life insurance has only one function. If you are not there, your family should get secure financial protection.

Now let's come back to the story. The plane was about to land in Uganda. Actually, at that time, the president of Uganda, Idi Amin, was in a lot of news all over the world. It was said that he is very flamboyant, unpredictable, didn't follow rules, and there was a conspiracy theory that it eats humans. And after it came to power, it had killed thousands of its opposition.
It had broken all ties with Israel and had kept an anti-Israel stance. So Israeli passengers were more scared that what would it do with the, what will Eid Amin do with the hijackers? So, after a while, the plane reached the airspace of Uganda. After reaching the airspace of Uganda, the ATC of the plane, does not object much, and lets it land easily. For this, Eid Amin is also questioned that it was already with them.
He already knew that the plane was going to hijack and land here. And by this time, everything was known in Israel that the Israeli plane was hijacking and landing in Uganda. So he started his preparation. People were making plans in Israel by doing back to back meetings. Now on 29th of June 1976, at 3.15pm, the plane lands in Entebbe, Uganda. And when the plane was landing,
the army of Uganda was standing all around the airport. They had weapons, car, of Uganda was stationed all around the airport. They had weapons, cars, trucks. The army was stationed all around. This airport had a new terminal on this side and an old terminal on the other side. The old terminal was being used less after the new terminal was built. The old terminal area is very important. All the things are to be done here.
Now, after the plane lands in the Antibay of Uganda, the hijackers go to the old terminal area. They talk to the officers of Uganda. And the surprising thing here was that 3 more terrorists of PFLP join them. So, these 4 hijackers, now total 7 hijackers were there. Now, how did these 3 reach here? Why didn't they stop them? No one knows that. After a while, they make a line from the plane and take all the passengers towards Old Terminal.
When all the passengers were going, the army of Uganda and the hijackers were guarding both sides. And all the passengers were going towards Old Terminal from the middle. There was a waiting hall inside Old Terminal. All the passengers are taken there. It's not like the hijackers were handling the passengers after reaching the hall The army of Uganda had formed a relief team
When the hijackers were resting upstairs, they were handling the passengers And a little later, Idi Amin comes inside the hall and gives speeches to all the passengers Basically, at this time, Idi Amin wanted to tell that he is a mediator And he is doing all this out of helplessness so that the passengers are safe. Now, after a while, the hijackers don't wait for long. They make a list of their demands. In their demand, it was that the 53 people in their group who are in jail, out of which 40 are in Israel's jail and the rest are in jail in France,. They should be released immediately. They should be given 5 million dollars. As soon as they get it, they will release all the passengers. After giving all the demands,
they were given a deadline of 1 July at 2 pm. If all these things are not done by this time, they will kill all the passengers. Then on the same day, 29th June 1976, all these demands reach Israel and other countries through the government of Uganda. After a short while, the hijackers announce the names of all the passengers with their passports. The Jews from Israel were separated into a group. And the non-Israelis were separated into a group.
All the Jews and Israelis were shifted to another hall. All the Israelis were on one side, but there was one Israeli who had dual citizenship. So he was traveling on a non-Israeli passport. So he was the only one left, otherwise all the Israelis, even though they were US citizens, but if they were Jews, they were also being transferred to the Israeli group. So this way, they divided all the passengers into two groups.
Only one passenger got very sick at that time. So at that time, he was transferred to a hospital in the city of Uganda. The rest of the passengers were here. And this passenger who went to the hospital, it will be very difficult for her to go to the hospital. I will tell you later why I am saying this. After this, nothing happens for a long time. Then it gets dark and the next day comes.
30th of June 1976. On this day, this non-Israeli group, in which some people were sick, mothers were with the children, some were senior citizens. They sent them to Paris in a plane. There were 12 crew members and they were also being sent.
But the crew members refused to leave their passengers and go anywhere. Now, the reason why the hijackers sent these non-Israeli passengers to Paris was that their entire plan would fail and they would lose their lives. Now, the hijackers were doing all these things in Uganda. On the other hand, Israel was in a completely different environment. From war room briefings to cabinet level meetings, the entire security ecosystem, Mossad, Shin Bet, IDF key planners, air force strategists, cyber units, intelligence analysts, were planning to deal with these hijackers day and night.
And at the same time, they made different plans and started military drills. If there was to be an immediate response at any time, an emergency committee was formed. Along with this, a fast intelligence team was set up. This team had only one task, to collect every detail of the location where the hostages and hijackers are. Where is the entry, where is the exit, how many hijackers are there, which weapon is in their hands. They were collecting every detail of the hijackers, where the entry and exit is, how many hijackers are there, which weapon they have, they were collecting each and every detail.
And a new brainstorm team was also set up in parallel so that multiple plans could be prepared for the operation with these details. So from this team, the hijackers left the non-Israeli passengers in Paris. One team goes straight to Paris and interrogates the non-Israeli passengers They made a detailed report of everything How many hijackers are there, what language do they speak, where was the Uganda army, where did they exit, where were they resting They made a detailed report of everything
This was very useful in making a plan for Israel At this time, Israel had switched on both the military and diplomatic channels. The first preference of Israel was to find a solution from the back channel, so that there was no need for military operation. They approached the US from the back channel. The US tried to talk to the president of Egypt, the African leader,
and tried to create pressure so that the hostages of the operation could be released. In fact, they also went to the Palestinian leadership as well. PLO chairman Yasser Arafat reached out to them as well. In fact, Yasser Arafat tried to talk to the hijackers as well. But the hijackers refused to talk to Yasser. A long time ago, there was an Israeli officer who had retired. Baruch Burka.
He used to talk to Idi Amin and they were old friends. The Israeli government called him and started a negotiation with him on the phone. Baruch talked to him on the phone and explained a lot. Baruch said that this is a big opportunity for you. If you somehow get these passengers released, you will become a hero in the world. In fact, he was also given the greed to get the Nobel Peace Prize. But Eid Amin did not agree.

Get started freeEid Amin clearly repeated one thing that he has nothing in his hands, he can't do much. Fulfill the things that they are asking for, their demands, otherwise they will really kill all the passengers. Now, the pressure on the Israeli leadership was increasing by the hour. Everything was going on through military preparation and diplomatic channels. But the family of the passengers in Israel were gathering the crowd and entering the Israeli offices They were making a scene In many places, there was a riot and a crowd gathered
They entered the government buildings All the family members were coming back to back in the Israeli news The Prime Minister of Israel was under a lot of pressure that if anything happens to any Israeli passenger, the public will not forgive You will never come back to power, you will never win the election To deal with all these things, the Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, took a meeting and clearly stated that
the demand for hijackers is for now, because it is in the enemy country. If we strike any military action, it will be a problem. On top of that, Idi Amin is playing a double game. Whatever we do, Idi Amin will help hijackers in his own country. And we cannot risk our Israeli citizens Israeli citizens because of these prisoners.
But when all these discussions were going on in the meeting itself, the Israeli Defense Minister, Shimon, he would go crazy. He would clearly say that if we release these terrorists from our jail, then there will be more damage. So in our jail, it will cause more damage. And in the future, they will cause more damage. We will appear weaker in front of the world.
So, with this, a conflict started between the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister. But then it was decided to make a plan, put it forward and see what could be done. Now, all these things happened and the date of 1st July came. And on this day morning, there is an emergency meeting in Hakria, Tel Aviv. In this meeting, Chief of Staff Gurp, Defence Minister Shimon and PM Rabin,
and in front of them, Israel's Brigadier General Dan. They come up with three plans that we can get our passengers released by doing three military operations. The first was that there was a Lake Victoria near Entebbe Airport.
The Israeli naval commandoes would go by boat and then enter the old terminal of the airport and kill the hijackers. And then surrender to Uganda. The second was to drop the parachute to the paracommandoes and they would get down, go inside and kill the hijackers. And the third was that in a civil plane, the airport next to it, all the people should go inside the civil plane,
follow the rules, and all the Israeli commando hide in that plane and kill all the hijackers and release their hostages. But as soon as the presentation ends, the higher authority rejects all these three plans. Because the problem with these three plans was that the planning of entering was very good, but after killing the hijackers,
the exit strategy of coming back was unreliable. Like there were a lot of crocodiles in Lake Victoria, it was't mentioned. On top of that, the exit plan in these three plans depended on Idi Amin. In these three plans, it was assumed that when Idi Amin kills the hijackers, he will support them. They had a doubt about Idi Amin, that he is involved.
So, what will he do later? We cannot make our plan on that basis. So, that's why all three plans were rejected. After the meeting, Brigadier General Dan asked for more time to make a good plan. In which the government of Uganda doesn't have any dependency on them. And on the same day, i.e. 1st of July 1976, they start a negotiation with the hijackers. This negotiation was basically to buy some time to make a plan.
So, they use their diplomatic channels to send a message that we are ready to accept all your conditions but there are so many prisoners and they are in different countries. So, it would take 2-3 days to get them released and brought to you. Now, at the same time, there was a coincidence that E D Amin wanted to go to Mauritius to hand over the chairmanship of OAU.
So, he also wanted to extend the time. It would be good for him. After multiple discussions, the matter is settled. The date is extended to 4th July at 2 PM. It is said that if you don't handover till 4th July at 2 PM,
and don't fulfill their demand, then all the passengers will be killed. E D Amin comes in front of the media and makes a proper announcement and says that I have already sent some passengers to Paris and I have sent them back to India and I have extended the date by talking to them again
So, this is also known as Idi Amin Now, the time that was given to the intelligence gathering team they get an information that there was an Israeli construction company, Soleil Bonin This company, between 1960 and 1970 this old terminal of Uganda airport
where all the hijackers and passengers are. So, they immediately call this Israeli company and get the actual layout, design of the terminal, entry and exit point, room, corridors, everything inch by inch. And they match the things with the passengers
who were released in Paris and make an actual model so that the operation can be executed. After this, all the details are collected and a final plan is ready. In which entry, exit, everything is under their control. And everyone likes this plan. In their final plan, rather than going to some commandoes and killing the hijackers,
instead of that, without informing Uganda, without informing the other countries, a huge Israeli commando team of more than 100 people should go under the radar. They should quietly reach the airport of Uganda without informing anyone. They should take over the entire airport. And they should take over in such a way that if the army of Uganda comes,
if a war situation arises, they can deal with it. And when they kill the hijackers, they take control of the whole area and get all the passengers released and take them back to Israel. Now see, the plan that was finalized, which everyone liked, there was not much wonder in this plan. Or it was not that it was never thought of. The most important thing about this plan, which made this plan an extraordinary plan, was that speed played a very important role in this whole plan. Step by step, a speed was decided that the entire plan should be executed at a particular speed.

Get started freeOnly then, in an enemy country, you can execute the plan without his consent. That's why this operation was named Operation Thunderbolt. It has to be done like lightning speed. Only then will it be successful. So, on 3rd of July, 1976,
at 6.30 pm, the Israeli government gets approval to execute this plan. Preparation was already underway on all the models. And it is fixed on 3rd July that this plan will be executed at 11 pm tonight. Because if it is done during the day, there will be a fear of getting caught. And the deadline was the next day. So, it was decided to execute this executed at 2 pm. So on one hand, the hijackers were happy that the Israeli government had agreed
and only a few hours were left for the group to meet at 2 pm. But on the other hand, the Israeli commandoes were about to leave with the plane in a few hours to kill the hijackers in Uganda. For this mission, Israel had selected 4 C-130 Hercules planes These planes were selected because they were a bad airfield, had to land fast, had to take off Had to take off quickly on a small runway It was very good in all aspects
And because they were going to a country where they were not going to get any support So they had to carry a lot of luggage So this plane could also carry a very heavy load It was very best for that The back door of this plane used to open In which loading and unloading was done in a very fast way
This whole mission that was to be executed later For this mission, the Mercedes and Land Rover cars played a very important role We will come to know later why these were so important So it was very easy to take these big cars inside this plane This was not a stealth plane but when it was going under the radar, the chances of getting caught were very less than the rest And these were the reasons why these 4 planes were selected
Now see, the distance from Israel to Uganda is more than 4000 km So no matter how much refueling they do in these planes, they have to get refueling done at one place So they secretly got permission from Kenya that after the operation is completed, refueling will be done from Kenya After all these things are set, these four planes start flying from the area of Sharm al Sheikh at 11 am. Two Boeing 707s follow them. One of them was to be kept as a backup in Kenya. The other was given the task that if the operation is in the final stage, so if needed, keep an eye on that area. So after all these things are set, they take the international flight route from Red Sea
and after a while, when they are at half distance, they fly at a very low altitude under the radar. First they reach Utopia, then Kenya, then through Lake Victoria, they start moving towards NTB airport. Their plan was that one of the four planes
will land first and the rest would land after receiving the signal The first main plane to land was the main paratrooper team, who had Matkal team, which was led by Yoni Netanyahu. Yoni Netanyahu was the elder brother of the current Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. And this operation that will be executed later, there was a big reason for it. Because of which, after winning the election, Benjamin Netanyahu became the Prime Minister. You will also get to know why I am saying this? You will know in a while.
The first C-130 plane had the main team. The second plane had a quick reaction team. The team in this plane had to leave and secure the new terminal area. In case the army of Uganda retaliates, they had to deal with it. And when the rest of the team was bringing the passengers out, they had to prepare a safe route for them.
The third plane had reserve paratroopers. Their job was to get out of the plane and destroy all the mixed planes of the Uganda Air Force. This was decided so that in case when these four planes were bringing all the passengers, the Uganda Air Force could not attack them. The fourth plane had an evacuation and medical support team. And along with this, they had a plane of 10 people for refueling the plane
They had a portable fuel pump This was so that in case of any problem with refueling options in Kenya They had already found out where the fuel area is at Entebbe Airport So in that emergency case, they pumped it themselves and refueled their plane The first plane from here was about to reach Uganda Entopy Airport. Let me explain the actual layout of the airport
so that you can understand the whole operation. This is the new terminal and this is the new runway. This is the new ATC tower. This is the old terminal. All the hostages are in this old terminal building.
The entire operation Thunderbolt is going to happen in a few minutes. At that time, the old terminal was not used, it was empty. Only hostages, hijackers and all this was there. Here, the old ATC tower you are seeing, the soldiers of Uganda were standing on it. And this is its old runway. Apart from this, there is also a military runway in it.
And here, 11 MiG fighter jets of Uganda Air Force are standing on its side. This is Victoria Lake in the south of the airport. This is where Israel had landed all its planes one by one. So now, the planes had reached this area from here.
Operation Thunderbolt has begun, marking a critical turn in the unfolding international crisis. Reports indicate that Israeli forces have launched a coordinated late-night mission at Entebbe Airport.
Now, the operation was to be executed. First of all, C-130, the first main plane, which had all the commandos, reaches the airport, turns off its lights, along with that, it turns off 2 engines out of 4, so that the noise is reduced. And then it starts landing slowly at a planned point. While landing, the doors are opened in the air, so that unloading is fast.
And then after landing, it make a signal with a battery light So that the other three planes land according to the light code And in the time of battle, if the Ugandan forces turn off the light of the runway to surround or to confuse Then they don't face any problem Now after this, this plane comes to the old runway by rotating here And before this, the Black Mercedes and two Land Rovers depart
Now their plan from here was that all these commandos, the car with which E.D.Ameen used to come to the airport, by making his own convoy, just like that, they will make a fake convoy, in which exactly the same cars will be there, the same numbers will be there,
Transcribe all your audio with Cockatoo
Get started freethe same flags will be there. And in this fake convoy, all these commandos had fake numbers, fake flags, everything as it is. Which matched the actual convoy of Idi Amin. So, the whole convoy was made and Yoni Netanyahu and his core team, 29 commando and 52 paratrooper, sat in it and completed all the things in 30 seconds to 2 minutes. And then they made a fake convoy and started moving towards the old terminal. And when they were moving forward slowly, at the same time, the remaining 3 Israeli planes
were also landing one by one on the runway And the teams were securing different areas, like a new terminal area The other team secured the new control tower At this time, the fake convoy that Yoni Netanyahu had made was running at a speed of 40 km per hour Exactly like the speed of the E-Di Amin so that no one would suspect But here comes a big problem.
E.D.Ameen always came in a black Mercedes. So he also kept an exact black Mercedes in his fake convoy with the same number plate. But 2-3 days before E.D.Ameen bought a white Mercedes and for 2 days he was coming in the same Mercedes in his convoy. Now this intel was not with the Israeli commando. So, when these people were 300 meters away from the old terminal by making a fake convoy, the security guards of Uganda had a doubt that for two days, only white Mercedes made the ameen was coming.
So, how did this black Mercedes come today? And why did it come at night? So, what these two do is, they stop this convoy. Now, the Israeli commando was given clear instructions that in this entire plan, the army officers of Uganda should not be killed, they should be avoided at all, otherwise it could lead to a war situation But as soon as the security guards stop, the back window of the black Mercedes opens and an Israeli commando shoots him with a silenced gun by lowering the window
But the Israeli commando standing inside the Range Rover fires unsuppressed, means without silencer, so it makes a loud noise throughout the runway. So Israeli commandoes are also scared that the hijackers and the forces of Uganda will be alerted.
So as soon as they kill them, they leave all the cars in the whole convoy and form groups of multiple commandoes and run very fast like the old terminal. It was 300 meters away, so they reached quickly As soon as they reach, the Ugandan army on the old ATC tower starts firing at them
Two teams answer them and deal with them In the meantime, one team does not stop, which was of Yoni Netanyahu It tries to enter the main hall of the old terminal Speed was the most important thing in this mission. They don't break that. And when Yoni Netanyahu was entering, an officer from Uganda fired a bullet from behind
and he got shot. So he died there. But no one stops. The main leader dies as soon as the operation starts, but they don't stop. They try to enter directly.
As soon as they enter, a hijacker comes out and they killackers. When they start firing, they kill them too. After killing them, the Israeli commandos shout in English and Hebrew in both languages. But even after all this, one passenger stands up.
So, they mistake it as a hijacker and kill the Israeli commandos. There were three hostages in this entire firing. They are killed. Then the Israeli commandos ask the host where are the other hijackers. Hostages point to the connecting room. Some of the Israeli commandos go to that room and shoot grenades. Then they go inside and kill the other hijackers.
Total 7 hijackers, 4 main hijackers who hijacked the plane and 3 who joined in Uganda Total 7 hijackers are killed. Then they go to the first floor, check downstairs and as soon as they clear the area, the passengers come under their control they send a message to their internal team through radio that all the hostages have been taken out. Out of a total of 106 hostages, 3 were killed in cross-firing.
One hostage, Dora Baloch, was sick. She was in the city hospital of Uganda. So, one of her remains. One hostage, Dora Baloch, was sick. She was in the city hospital of Uganda. The other 102 hostages were taken by the Israeli commandos and slowly started to leave. There was a lot of firing going on outside. The old ATS tower, the army of Uganda, was killed.
This is the original image of the tower from which the firing was taking place. You can see the bullet marks in this. After this, they make guards. All the passengers are slowly made to sit in the plane. And then they go ahead of this runway, where the MiGs of Uganda were standing. And all the planes of the Israeli commandos
of the Uganda Air Force were standing. They destroy all of them. And after this, all four planes, all the hostages and Yoni Yetanyahu's body are taken out of there. In a total of 53 minutes, They were at the airport in 3 minutes. The assault lasted for 30 minutes. 7 hijackers were killed.
45 people from the Uganda army were killed. They were told not to kill even 1. Then, these 4 planes take off and land in Kenya. Refueling is done there. Then, they land at the Ben Gurion airport in Israel where all the passengers boarded for Paris on June 27.
These are the images after returning to Israel Ben Gurion airport. After the end of this operation, Idi Amin got very angry. He had even arrested his army chief, that maybe he also met them, that's why they were able to do so much. And because refueling had happened in Kenya, so Idi Amin was also thinking of retaliation against Kenya.
But all the mixes had flown away, so this plan was also cancelled. And the one hostage, Dora Baloch, who was shifted to the city hospital in Uganda due to illness, she was not rescued. We did not know anything about her for a long time. Then suddenly we got the news that she died. In many British declassified documents, it is mentioned that she was kidnapped by Idi Amin and was killed by him to take revenge from Israel.
After the completion of this operation, Yoni Netanyahu, that is, Jonathan Netanyahu, was the only commander who lost his life. He had a very strong national sympathy in Israel. He had become a national hero. The name of the operation was changed from Thunderbolt to Operation Jonathan. And then later on, his brother Benjamin Netanyahu,
