VegasStarfish
Las Vegas nightlife is starting to show signs of trouble as massive layoffs will be announced tomorrow. Tuesday, September 2nd, Dre's Day Club and Beach Club will be announcing their closure and a warn notice will be made public indicating that at least 50 people will be laid off. But Dre's is not the only venue feeling the slump in tourism and spending. What we're dealing with in Las Vegas is a tale of two cities.
Premium club experiences like XS, EBC, Towel Beach Club and Omnia are seeing record numbers. They are thriving despite economic uncertainty, but the nightclubs and dayclubs that are focused on the middle class and budget crowds are struggling to drive enough revenue to offset the exorbitant cost of major headliners.
And those headliners are necessary to draw a crowd. The result is major clubs are scaling back on staff and dayclubs are pivoting their business model to focus less on the club experience and more on the pool party experience. Vegas is incredibly adaptable and will continue to change to give guests what they're looking for. As details come out, I'll share them in the comments.
