What happens if you pull a shot of espresso through a freeze-dried strawberry? I thought this could potentially taste pretty good, so let's try it out and see if it even works. So my thinking here is that a freeze-dried strawberry would work better than a regular one, since it's completely dehydrated. And maybe the hot water will dissolve it into the espresso. I prepared a pretty normal shot of espresso, with the only difference being I added that strawberry at was gonna block the flow of espresso. And while it looked pretty normal at first, you can see that that's exactly what ended up happening. So I had a different idea.

What if we add the freeze-dried strawberry to the coffee beans and grind it up together? This way it won't cause any issues with the espresso's flow, and it could still add some interesting flavor. I added the strawberry and coffee beans directly like the first one, doing all of my normal puck practice, and I was curious to see if this shot would actually come out better than the first one. And what we got was much much better.
