it's monday May 25th 2026 day of the year and there shift on the horizon.A s is about to lock into pla later this week, scrambli locking in extremes from So let's jump right into it.Starting over here in Midland and Odessa and Andrews in Texas, Tuesday is going to absolutely test y 'all. And I want you guys to take this seriously because yesterday I told you that the Permian Basin was waking up to a rough Tuesday.

0:34

And in the latest data, it looks like that's locked in quite a bit.It looks like it's going to be a pretty dangerous day down here for anybody who gets caught in the middle of one of these storms.

0:43

And there's actually about a half a million people or more in the middle of this risk.

0:47

So from Lubbock points nor, We're not dealing with much but if you go south of there, we are definitely looking at some big storms Temperatures are probably gonna hang out around the 70s and 80s.

0:57

Thanks to some cloud cover But there's still gonna be plenty of fuel for these storms to tap into the window You need to circle is 4 p .m.To 9 p .m.

1:06

Right through the evening commute and just after dinner You see a wave of energy is pivoting out of the Pacific Northwest and slamming into easterly winds that are shoving rich Gulf moisture up against the higher terrain So that means that we're gonna have storm energy of around 2 ,000 joules per kilogram stacked on top of 30 to 40 knots of wind shear and that's textbook supercell weather, especially out here.

1:28

These are gonna start off as discreet supercells capable of dropping hen egg sized hail and that's like over two inches across for those of you who've never seen a hen egg. That's big enough to shatter a windshield and potentially even total a car sitting out in the open.

1:42

Later in the evening as these storms cluster up, they're gonna pack 60 to 70 mile per hour wind gusts and that's definitely gonna to be able to knock some power out and maybe even peel shingles off of roofs and stuff like that.So I'm watching the evening hours very closely because we're going to have that river of warm, humid air at the low levels that's going to

2:00

kick in over the Permian Basin and that's going to crank up and it's going to increase the spin in the atmosphere and that's actually going to bring a decent tornado threat with it.The I -20 corridor between Pecos and Midland, and along with the remote I -10 corridor to the south, that's where I'd be most concerned.

2:18

The supercells are definitely going to have their biggest capability of producing tornadoes and stuff down there, and especially before they merge into a line, I really do think that the giant hail and the tornado threat is going to be more of a problem, but just another reason to have the WeatherWise app, right?

2:33

We've always got to plug the WeatherWise app here because it's so daggone good, and according to what I'm hearing, and not everybody in the world has it yet.So I'm going to keep talking about it until everybody does have it.If you're driving along I -10, have the WeatherWise app open.It will help if you know what's coming, if you can see on the radar what's coming downstream. You don't even have to hide under the overpass to protect your glass. You can avoid the storm, reroute, change your plans, get lunch, let the storm pass.

2:57

You know what I'm saying? Now, the actual storms are just the opening act over here in Texas. The main event tomorrow is going to be the water.

3:04

We still have that life -threatening flash flooding threat that's going to be taking aim at the Gulf Coast on Tuesday, putting millions of people at risk of rapidly rising water. In our last video, I warned you of the heavy rain along I -35 and the Gulf Coast, and the forecast has only gotten more aggressive because we now have two main bullseyes. We've got the Texas Hill Country near San Antonio, and then you've got the stuff going on near the central Gulf Coast from Biloxi over to Mobile.

3:29

Gulf Coast downpours are going to kick off around 2 p .m.Tuesday, but Texas, this is actually going to be a little bit more of a nighttime threat over here.10 p .m.and 6 a .

3:40

m.from Tuesday into Wednesday and the big storm system sliding east is acting like a giant atmospheric vacuum it's soaking in all that deep tropical moisture straight off the Gulf and there's plenty of it down there the atmosphere is gonna be absolutely loaded okay we're gonna have

3:55

moisture levels in the atmosphere way above what they normally are and they normally are pretty loaded already we're talking about 1 .5 to 2 times as much atmospheric moisture than we typically have okay so that makes for an incredibly efficient rain makers whenever these storms pop up they're going to be dumping water at rates that will overwhelm drainage in minutes and we're also talking about a widespread two to four inches of rain with localized spots easily top Falling on a ground that's already saturated from the weekend. So coastal counties in Southeast Texas, you guys definitely need to be weather aware.Storm drains are going to give up fast.Flooded intersections are going to be a big problem.Stalled cars, water creeping up on doorsteps and low -lying spots.I mean, it's all going to be happening out there.

4:39

And what really stands out in the hill country is that the low -level moisture is going to really kick up overnight.

4:49

And unfortunately, that means that we could be having an overnight nocturnal flood threat out here in Texas. And we all know we're very familiar in Texas with this threat, so we definitely need to be paying close attention to this.Make sure you have a way of getting alerts.Make sure your phone absolutely will not shut up until you are getting to higher ground in the case of a flash flood warning.

5:09

And you also want to be staying put and not driving around on the roads because a few inches of fast -moving water will sweep even your SUV or your big yee -yee truck away. And we're getting ready to get much deeper into that. But first, let's shout out today's awesome sponsor.Did you know that your personal data is just sitting out there being sold by data brokers?Literally anyone can buy your details online right now. That opens you up to all kinds of risks from phishing scams to identity theft and even stalking.

5:39

And that's why I'm excited to partner with today's sponsor, Delete .Me.I personally use Delete .Me to help keep my information private because they go out and remove your data from hundreds of data broker websites.I checked my own dashboard, I was shocked to see how many pieces of my personal information they found and removed for me.And it's not just that you could be at risk.

5:58

When somebody buys your data, they can see info about your relatives too, which is why I actually recommend getting the Delete Me Family Plan. It's really good.Removing your data will help protect yourself and your family from these risks.Get 20 % off Delete Me Consumer Plans when you go to joindeleteme .com.Thanks again to Delete .

6:24

me for sponsoring this video and also several other videos. They've been a long time partner here now and a lot of you guys like the service.

6:30

So if you haven't tried it yet, seriously, it's good and it's actually useful.

6:34

So let's get back into the video.for a while, okay? And it's going to keep on going. The flash flood threat is going to kind of intensify once again into eastern Texas and along the Arklatex area into the lower Mississippi Valley. This next round is going to be continuing from Tuesday night through the morning and redeveloping in southeast Texas, which is going to make an absolute mess of the midweek commute.

7:04

The same upper level setup that soaked the western side of Texas is going to be skipping over towards the central and eastern part, especially as we go forward, and that's going to drag that big plume of tropical moisture right along with it.The moisture is going to stay cranked up near record levels across the deep south. So any storm that pops off is going to wring itself out in a hurry. And we're going to be talking about once again, some really heavy downpours out here. These are what I call gully washers.OK, widespread one to three inches of rain will be falling fast.

7:32

It's going to be falling fast enough to send creeks and streams out of their banks and turn city streets into rivers.I -35 from Dallas down to Waco needs to stay on high alert because the rain is going to fall onto a ground that simply can't absorb.another drop.Okay, so the whole southeast down here, any storm that pops up, you guys need to be watching them very closely. We're talking about Texas a lot, even like Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, like you guys know where you are.If you've had a lot of rain recently, another rain shower that drops us several inches of rain in a short period of time is going to be bad news for those creeks and streams near you.

8:05

So keep an eye on them.

8:06

And in a completely different part of the country, we've got a completely different problem. We've got an unseasonably hot air mass surging into the Dakotas and the upper Midwest, bringing a major heat risk into places that are just not ready for it yet. This is really going to peak Tuesday into Wednesday, and it's going to push temperatures 15 to 20 degrees above average. We're talking about near record highs of 90 to 95 degrees across the Dakotas, with humidity crashing into the teens. And you see what's causing this is high pressure is actually building aloft, acting like a giant lid that traps heat at the surface, and it bakes the grain.and we'll talk more about that high pressure here in a minute with the Omega block system that we're talking about.

8:44

But all that hot air is also going to accelerate the mountain snow melt.So we're actually watching river and stream levels closely across the Montana and Wyoming areas as a result of this heat.Because even though we're not getting a bunch of rain, this could actually cause some problems with all the ice melting so fast. These afternoon temperatures can even trigger heat strokes. So if you're working outside without water, we're pretty much skipping right over spring up here.Is it ready to go in Billings tomorrow is gonna be a pretty miserable sweaty day for you now zoom out with me for a second Let's take a deeper dive on this this big picture right this Omega block that we're talking about you see starting tomorrow and especially going into Thursday May the 28th and potentially lasting straight through the weekend I think we're gonna be watching a massive Omega block pattern take place over the United States Okay, and that's pretty much gonna freeze our weather pattern in place.

9:38

We're gonna have a huge jump film of how.pressure building over the central United States, the north central United States, up into Canada. And that's going to be sandwiched in between two deep storm systems on the coasts. And that's the shape that gives the block its name. It's an omega shape there. If this verifies, the northern tier of the U .

9:55

S.is going to bake under unseasonably warm and dry air while the southern U .

9:59

S.gets stuck right underneath that active storm track. We're going to have a stubborn high pressure system near Hudson Bay that's going to pump dry air into the Great Lakes keeping all that heavy moisture locked away to the south and the southwest. Now in the upper midwest that means we're going to have a prolonged stretch of sunny hot days running 10 to 20 degrees above normal though we're still several days out so this could shift around a little bit and meanwhile in the deep south this means that we could be continuing to face daily repetitive rounds of heavy thunderstorms that keep rivers running high and pretty much ruin outdoor plans.

10:32

If you guys planning on heading out to the opening round of the the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas on Thursday, be ready for serious weather delays and soggy greens as those storms lock in.So yeah, the omega block pretty much means that the weather's going to be mostly quiet. It's going to be mostly hot and dry, but on the edges and down near the south, we could get recurring rain.

10:53

It's not looking like severe weather, but things could get a little boring for the foreseeable future. But before that, Omega block really gets locked in, okay? And before we talk about whatever big storm system comes next.I promise y 'all it's not all doom and gloom.

11:07

One corner of the country is absolutely hitting the weather jackpot tomorrow. So if you want to experience the nicest weather in America on Tuesday, the Northeast and Mid -Atlantic is going to be where you're going to want to go.We're talking about Manchester, New Hampshire, Rutland in Vermont, places like this. We're going to see some of the most flawless conditions we've tracked all month.up here and the window is locked in from sunrise to sunset once again tomorrow on Tuesday.A dry air mass is going to be wiping the sky, mostly clean, dropping rain.

chances to near zero and keeping dew points in the crisp 50s.Temperatures are probably actually going to be a little bit higher than what you would want. That's why it's not technically perfect weather. It's beautiful weather. We're going to be in the low to mid 80s Tuesday and especially on Wednesday. But on Tuesday, if you're heading to Fenway to watch the Braves in the Red Sox or if you're catching the Mets at Citi Field, you really couldn't ask for better baseball weather.

11:57

Even the beaches are going to be fantastic.Ocean swells are going to be dropping to about 3 feet with a gentle southwest breeze under 10 miles per hour. And afternoon highs are going to be right around 80 with a soft 10 mile per hour breeze. This is ultimate patio dining or hiking weather. So make sure you get outside and enjoy it.And that's pretty much all the weather talk I have for you today.

12:17

Thank you so much for watching.I will see you in the next one.Goodbye.
