The New Minecraft Snapshot is very satisfying

This is one of my previous Minecraft bases.I refer to it as the armchair because...Well, it sort of looks like an armchair. But down at the bottom of the waterfall, it had an incredible door that splits this waterfall and opened up when you pass through the tripwires.I forgot about that.So you could literally fly in with an elytra, the door would open and you'd end up inside the gigantic storage system.

0:23

Now, sadly, the waterfall splitting element of this build is no longer functional, but the concept is incredibly cool.

0:29

And now that I'm playing in Minecraft 26 .2 snapshot seven, I think it can get even better. It's time to do some experimentation.Okay, I got distracted and I built this thing.I don't really know what it's useful for in the slightest, but it is enjoyable to watch. So all I need is a little bit of lava, some of the potent sulfur and then some water. And I have a constantly erupting geyser.

0:51

Well, this is very enjoyable. Now, the second I saw these, I thought of waterfalls and like this. This looks so much like the bottom of a waterfall.I can bury them under the ground and place blocks on top of them. And then if I fill in this pool and then place a water source up at the top here, immediately that looks pretty cool and all i have to do is split the waterfall like this and shut off the middle one and i think that could look good door opens up behind it everything feels incredibly fancy on a larger scale that is going to look sweet so Let's get things started by building up the waterfall.I've got some build inspiration for you.

1:32

This fantastic shallow waterfall by Mikel C1397.I love the foliage.I love the texture.I'm going to try my best to replicate something along those lines.OK, we're getting somewhere. To be extremely clear here, I'm going to lay the foundation first and then I can do the redstone easily and then I'll add all of the decorations in a bit.

1:51

But this is going to be where our pool is.And then this here is going to be our three by three piston door.I really really like that Mikel hasdone is the waterfall sits away from the wall, which is going to add some complexity into our waterfall splitting system, because I guess it will have to pop out significantly further, probably out to about here. But the end result should be beautiful.I know it's kind of hard to tell with the monstrosity that I currently have.

2:18

I promise you this is going to look good.Let's start placing in some of the water. What does it look like?do okay okay ah yes i forgot the pain of building water -based doors you know what i've just realized we don't actually need to pretend that we're hiding this like we normally would with a hidden waterfall entrance the whole point of this is it's just a beautiful build which means these could actually be like logs this middle section could be made of something like honey blocks and this could look like kind of structural.Very cool, very cool, very cool.Do I have enough in my trapdoor budget to also do these?

3:04

I don't think so.Three, six, nine, 10, 11, 12.That is going to significantly slow down my ability to retract this because I can no longer do the chain piston thing. But if I make use of things like glass in front of the waterfall, that should stop it breaking things.but it does make it look bad from certain angles.Unless I add them all throughout the entire build and they kind of look like water particles and do look really, really cool.

3:42

Yeah, that looks pretty good.Like that's actually an upgrade, but I've got them in the important positions that should stop water from flying over the top of this thing and making the whole thing ugly.Let me actually see if this works. If I retractthis, yeah, yeah, the waterfall does actually stay in place.Whereas if I remove some of these and get rid of them, you can see when this retracts.

4:11

Oh yeah.

4:13

Oh, that's yeah.Oh my goodness. And then if we push it back out to try and split it again It's oh, yeah.Okay, very very very bad. This is gonna take forever to clear.Oh my goodness It even created infinite water sources.

4:25

That's how bad my flood was definitely definitely need these wait if I do something like this I then don't need the trapdoors or anything like that and I can just have a double piston extender instead of a triple piston extender Which means it goes fast, which means we shouldn't hopefully break the waterfall too much.

4:40

Oh, no No.

4:45

No.Our waterfall doesn't actually split. How did I forget this?I mean, I've put the double piston extender in.It's not changing it.It's not changing it.

4:56

Oh, that's terrible.Oh, my goodness. And even cutting off the waterfall up at the top still, still connects it up.

5:03

Have I just come up with a really stupid way to get rid of water?I mean, this works. This is the crudest setup ever. That does function. The big question is, would it remove water?

5:21

I'm sad.Oh, how did I forget the humble sponge, the humble sponge?I think this might work if I just do a bit of this and a bit of this. The water's gone.Yes.Yes.

5:35

There's just one problem.A drying sponge is is not possible for me. I do really wish you could just like pass it over magma blocks or something. But no, it's going to stay like this.It was worth a shot, wasn't it?

5:46

So my new incredibly bootleg, but maybe potentially

6:14

this.

6:14

could find a link to it of course is down in the description the only problem I currently have is that of course my sponge is on display which when this thing's open it looks horrendously ugly now I do have an idea and you can see that I've already added some muddiness in this area I've added some glass and bits I just kind of like introduced the idea of banners hey hey it's not bad Do you know what I mean?

6:45

That is not bad.I realized that actually collided with the piston. So I've kind of switched around a little bit.I've added in some clover berries too.I'm just trying to do anything I can to distract you away from this point here.I would say it's not easy.

6:56

It's not perfect, but it is working. So now if we fire our triple piston extender, that should shoot our sponge block out to this point here. And if we fire it again, then that should retract it back to here, which to be fair, is a pretty good point where you could replace it.You could get a fresh one dropped out of the ground and then just break this and place one back. That would be the easy way of doing things.I kind of like the idea of the sponge magazine, so we're going to be building that.

7:27

Now, I really hope with this tiny modification to the circuitry, this should become a single button press triple piston extender. That has worked so well.Oh, my goodness.Oh, my goodness.

7:41

That's crazy. So now I just have to sort out the input circuits.we only want our triple piston extender and sponge bits to fire when the splitter activates and then on the opposite end so we just need the splitter to retract no sponge action okay we've got some t flip flop action a little bit of this that means that the triple piston extender circuit should only be powered on one side of the t flip flop yeah this kind of seems smart all right okay let me just link up this redstone line and now if i hit this button everything should retract away that is looking good we have got ourselves a waterfall no animations just yet but we'll get to it hit the button again it splits and works Oh my goodness, that actually went incredibly well. That has gone incredibly well. Now, unfortunately, it's not going to work again because our sponge is currently wet.We need to put the block swappers in, but the system is functional.

8:50

One thing that I didn't really like there was the timings. So I think I'm going to increase the delay.

8:58

Oh, that was a misclick. Here's the thing.OK, I could very easily increase the delay by just doing this. But have you noticed something?Have you noticed something excluding the input line here? This build is remaining four blocks wide, like it's staying perfectly four blocks wide, and this would make it five blocks wide.

9:17

I don't want to make it five blocks wide.So instead, I'm going to spend a bunch of time thinking about how I could do this.Oh, oh, oh, my goodness.I think I've just done it.So now let's take a look at these new updated timings.Much, much better.

9:35

Now I'm going to make two versions of this door, one compact one with the sponge being replaced.just in the center of the doorway and one with the sponge magazine that will be slightly larger with the sponges wrapping around this unit. But for now, I'm going to turn my attention to the door opening, which there's a new problem.

9:52

this observer right here if we do a slime block or honey block base door is going to be carried away or at the very least update which will likely break everything so although i initially had a four high door I think we're going to have to go for a three by three, which I actually think looks cooler.

10:10

So I don't think we've lost much there. Now I need to send our redstone signal down from the top, which I'm going to do using a whole bunch of observers and droppers. So that is all fantastic. The next problem, though, is how I'm going to build the three by three door.because i could do it in segments but that would be quite big i could do a regular 3x3 piston door but we don't have the top space i could do everything from the sides that's fine however if i do add anything to the sides it will expand my design and for some reason i don't want that it's just so cool it being just five blocks it's four blocks wide i've been calling it five blocks wide and i definitely can't make it bigger now i think this might be the smallest way of doing things just little flying machines gosh that looks so cool now I just need to come up with a way to activate all of these observers even though I have a 1x3 area to work with this pane is totally self -inflicted I guess one thing that would work is yeah extending a block across that powers all of the observers at once that syncs up our piston door it's now open it does mean we have this quite ugly piston arm in the top of our door but we also have slime blocks and honey blocks and observer faces and this hole for sponge that makes this marginally more acceptable we should now have the door closing mechanics all sorted or not of courseI forgot to replace the observers.

11:36

Now everything should be functional, beautiful as should be the opening.

11:46

Perfection. And now finally, we come to the reason why I'm actually playing on this update, which is these geysers, these little animated geyser bits.My goodness is taking me a whole day to get here. But I think it's about time that we animate the bottom of this waterfall.

12:02

I'm going to do two different experiments here. The first one is just a three wide cloud, which has the added benefit, not that I'm paying attention in the slightest, that it stays within the footprint of the waterfall.that I have stuck with for this entire video but it does have the downside that the vapor will only sit in the middle of the waterfall and also I can't swap it to the outside edges when it splits which may look a little bit pants oh by the way i've changed up the look of our waterfall and i like it a lot there is still so much decorating to do but i'm really enjoying doing the redstone at the minute so let's get all of this water in and as the door is currently closed these should be active and spewing now let's have a look I have put them way too high.

12:47

OK, they need to go down by at least two blocks, which I have now done. And it looks absolutely sensational.Let's see what the timings are looking like for the switch off.OK, it's a tiny bit late.I think it takes a little while for the geysers to stop producing steam.

13:11

So I wonder if I just straight up remove the water instead of the lava. That also makes the redstone marginally cleaner.Let's see.yeah okay that was much quicker and the activation is still fast so now if i open up our piston door

13:30

still not ideal.

13:31

I think the problem is going from heavy clouds to zero clouds kind of makes no sense. So I'm going to leave these two on the outside permanently running and only switch off the middle that ended up looking significantly better. And now that I've made even more improvements to the timings of everything, I would say we are 99 .9 % of the way there.Don't worry.I haven't forgotten about the sponge magazine I will be building that but before I do I think it's time to do the rest of the Decorating stage one is to add a whole bunch of greenery and all sorts of hanging bits from the top Which I think immediately huge difference.I also really really like the blue glass mixing in it kind of gives me more angles to play with with the water now just like Mikkel C 1397 did I want to create a little pool off to the side here with an extra waterfall running into it.

14:21

Ah, this build technique mixed with this works so well, oh my goodness.I must admit though, I am a little bit disappointed that this is technically a desert biome, it's really messing with my greens.I won't lie team, I am having an absolute whale of a time building all sorts of different rocks and various bits and pieces here. The little candle reeds, I mean come on now. This is outrageously fun.I'm almost there, just this final section.

14:47

left to go.That is not something I predicted.I placed kelp underneath the waterfall, not thinking anything of it.It started growing up into the waterfall and ruining things. Now the final stage of the process, which is one of my favorites, the painting shadows with glass segment. And I think We have ended up with a pretty cool looking build.

15:05

So now it's time to transform this four block wide construction into something with ammo. Now this shouldn't actually be that difficult. All I have to do is before the machine fires, push in a dry sponge. It makes sense that I do this at the start of the operation. So then I don't have to have complicated delay circuits. So our dry sponges get pushed across and then

15:24

they'll get pushed upwards here and then get pushed across here and then eventually get pushed downwards here so this should do the trick that is all of them and then redstone wise i just have to do something a little bit like this that will detect the initial push and cause this piston to fire it's called a smart piston and i can do the same thing here nice and easy same thing here nice and easy now i just connect this piston up to the input line and that is everything i have both designs next to one another the original four wide version and then the four wide plus ammo belt and now i'm going to power the one with the reloading mechanism so hitting the button the waterfall splits Our sponge gets retracted and our door opens up and the little clouds of water vapor get separated.

16:16

This thing is ridiculously satisfying. It is.It's unbelievably satisfying. And the closing is almost more satisfying, like the plumes of water appearing as the water hits the water.just makes me incredibly happy.

16:32

I don't know how else I could have said that sentence. This is a really, really cool little machine. The way that it functions is interesting. It uses weird game mechanics. It works so much better than I expected. And I think the separation between the waterfall and the door just makes it look so much better.

16:51

It adds so much depth.I'm also so glad that I went for wood up at the top here because it just adds such a level of mechanicalness to it.It really does feel like a contraption that has been constructed and engineered which is incredibly cool and I gotta say although I do really like my full wide design over here there is something special about this system passing sponges through itself to clear out the waterfall that makes me incredibly happy. This has beena very fun project to work on.It's combined both building and also compact redstone, something that I haven't done for a little while.

17:27

So I really do hope that you enjoyed it and I will catch you all in the next video.See ya.
