Hey folks, Tim Horton says they are hiring Canadians again, except for one thing.They're not!Steven Menzies for Rebel News here at the Tim Hortons on Wellington Street in Aurora, Ontario.And folks, the reason why I'm here, it's not to buy a double -double at a box of Timbits.Uh -uh.Rather, we have caught Tim Hortons in a whopper of a lie, and boy, it's a doozy.

namely Tim's, which is now owned by a Brazilian hedge fund called 3G Capital.It's no longer Canadian, contrary to public belief.It has faced increasing pressure about not hiring Canadians.What Tim Horns is doing is they are exploiting the temporary foreign workers program to hire foreign nationals.Now, why would that be?It'll never be a red tag day for Tim Horns.

It's Canada's largest food service company.Why does Tim Horns feel the necessity to go after this kind of a program?It doesn't make sense unless it's all about corporate greed.Now, folks, before I get further into the crux of the matter, as you can see behind me, we have brought our big, beautiful billboard truck.We are advocating a boycott of Tim's until they change their behavior and stop lying to Canadians.Can you do me a favor?

We think it was due to the announcement that Dunkin' Donuts is coming back to Canada in a big way.A Montreal franchisor is going to open up some 700 stores in Canada starting later this year.And Tim Hortons made the announcement that they are going back to hiring Canadian workers.Now, that's great news, except for one fact, folks.

It's fake news.

The CEO for Tim Hortons recently personally registered as a lobbyist to keep Canada's immigration laws as loosey -goosey as possible, namely so that Tim Hortons can continue to exploit the Temporary Foreign Worker program contrary to what they are saying publicly.It's absolutely outrageous.If you go to the federal government's Temporary Foreign Worker website, there are some 90 active Tim Hortons jobs from coast to coast up for grabs.You can check it out yourself, folks, and that would include this Tim Hortons here in Aurora, Ontario.So Tim's is still hiring foreigners rather than Canadians.What do you think of that?

So at the end of the day, Tim's is still all in when it comes to hiring foreign nationals over Canadians, and it's kind of gross.Tim Hortons wraps itself in the maple leaf.Oh sure, they love selling their food products and coffee to Canadians, just not all that gung -ho.on hiring Canadians.And look at the unemployment rate, especially the double -digit youth unemployment rate.Consider that increasingly the idea of a summer job is becoming a thing of the past.

Why is Tim Hortons doing this and why is Tim Hortons lying to us that they're not doing it?Well, let's talk to some customers here at Tim's and see what they think of this bait -and -switch marketing practice.We're just asking people what they think about Tim Hortons taking advantage of the temporary foreign worker program as opposed to hiring Canadians.

It's uh...It was an interesting loophole that the government opened up that Tim Hortons definitely exploited.

To be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to Dunkin' Donuts coming.I'm hoping that they'll do more Canadian.Both my kids are university students and they should have been able to get a job there and they haven't.

I think it is affecting Canadians because Canadians can't get jobs.Our job is really bad.But I mean, I feel like they need jobs too.The immigrants need jobs.But at the same time, it's like, Canadians genuinely don't have anywhere to work now and prices keep going up.

Maybe dealing with the immigrant is easier.

It is to give these people permanent residency, which leads to all out full citizenship.And the quid pro quo is Take advantage of the Canadian dream.Take advantage of all our Canadian social programs, from health care to welfare.And all we ask in return, wink wink, nudge nudge, is every four years or so, when it's an election, You put your checkmark with Team Red.I think that's ultimately what's going on.This is an example of the Mark Carney Liberals putting party before country.
