as the musical acts that were set to perform at his so -called Great American State Fair have said we are not showing up.Also, many of them have said that we were not even told this was a Trump event when we signed up for it, and we didn't even know the White House was going to release our names one after another, each one saying, I quit, I am out.So here's what's going down. You know that the Trump regime is building a UFC stadium outside of the White House. They've demolished the White House.Donald Trump keeps talking about this 250th day propaganda fest that he wants to hold.
They call it the Great American State Fair that's set to take place from June 25th to July 10th, so after that ridiculous UFC fight.I mean, do you see how clownish the White House looks, by the way?And so the White House made this announcement yesterday, which was very odd.Just announced the lineup for the Great American State Fair is here, and it's bringing the hits. All right, which superstars are performing?Martina McBride, Young MC.
CNC Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, The Commodores, Morris Day and The Time, Flo Rida, Bret Michaels, and many, many more.16 days, 56 states and territories. One unforgettable celebration on the National Mall. Then they had their featured performers, but then immediately after announcing the featured performers, Morris Day and The Time, one of those purported featured performers, says, Contrary to the rumor, Morris Day and The Time will not be performing at the quote, Great American State Fair. Then they put the sign for, uh -uh, ain't happening. Then we heard from Young MC.
He goes, I have informed my agents that I will not be performing at the Freedom 250 event. The artists were never told about the political connection.I literally only sawthe Freedom 250 affiliation this morning. So that's it.I will not be performing.
I hope to perform in DC at an event that is truly non -political.Thank you." And YoungMC makes a great point there. The Trump regime says, ah, this isn't political. It's just music. That's not true.
Donald Trump is using all of this for his fascist intentions. He's using these acts as propaganda.and there's no way to say, it's not political, I'm just performing. As Scott McFarlane, the Midas Touch Washington DC.Bureau chief said we're down to seven acts for this event and now CNC music factory is reportedly weighing its options to their One of their their lead singer Freedom Williams put out a video where he said basically he hates Donald Trump He said he hates politics and he specially hates Donald Trump and he doesn't he has no interest in being used for Donald Trump's propaganda He also says he doesn't like being told that he can't do something So if he does it, it's only because he's being told that he shouldn't do it, but he hates Donald Trump and he doesn't know about any of this.He never knew about the affiliation.
Here's how Notice reported it moments ago.about all of the individuals who I just mentioned who are saying we're out, this is not for me.They mentioned Freedom Williams. And then you have the individual who's running Freedom 250 who goes, Freedom 250 is focused on our signature celebration and events that honor our history and engage all Americans, welcoming all who share our goal ofcommemorating this milestone in a way that uplifts and unites America."" Goes on to say, the artist's withdrawal sparked discussion about the political nature of the events, but Freedom's 250th CEO, Keith Kroc, previously stressed that the organization is nonpartisan, though he's also said that Trump created the organization.
Trump's pledge that our nation's 250th birthday would be celebrated in a way worthy of our history.I mean, literally, this is a guy who's demolished the east wing of the White House. There's now an asbestos hole right there. There is this grotesque looking UFC structure going up in the White House. He wants to spend our taxpayer dollars on January 6th, slush funds, He wants a $1 .5 trillion military budget to engage in more war crimes while ripping away healthcare from people.I mean, this is an individual who sent ICE and Border Patrol Gestapo to round up people in the United States and throw them into camps.
No, everything this guy touches is not just political, but is fascist. And if you want to aid and abet a fascist, then go and perform at the fascist parade, because that's what this is all about. You know, it also reminds me of what went down with the Kennedy Center, where Donald Trump basically shut down the Kennedy Center after one by one, each of the acts were quitting.I mean, you had you had Vocal Arts DC, Washington National Opera, Hamilton, Marth and Graham Dance Company, the Britannia Quartet, Seattle Children's Theater, Shonda Rhimes, Issa Rae.One by one, you had all of these acts that were quitting there because nobody won.People didn't want to show up to this odd fascist display, so ticket sales were down.
There's a reason why Donald Trump's businesses went bankruptone by one by one, most of them did, or a lot of them did, I should say, because he can't run things well, and he runs things into the ground, and then he just makes it so weird about himself.I mean, I've been talking recently about how UFC attendance has been down, and a lot of that is because the ticket prices are up, but I think a lot of UFC fans are like, We're here to watch the fight, not to see Dana White and Donald Trump constantly promoting Donald Trump's hateful and divisive agenda. It's become, to a lot of people in their opinion, a showing of force by the Epstein class, and it's just become this grotesque thing. Now, I had the ability to speak with Ben Folds, who was, you know, once the head of the National Sympathy. He was one of the main curators of it.
And here's what Ben Folds told me about the Kennedy Center shutting down.Play this clip. It's really sad.
You know, the Kennedy Center had so many great missions, and it is a memorial as well. It's as close to sacred stuff as you can get for our federal government. But, you know, aside from that, it really is playing out roughly the way that it felt it would for me a year ago.And I'm not saying that I understood how events would unfold exactly, but it was clearly the first step uh, of, uh, it was, it was an authoritarian move.It was an authoritarian first, first step. And like, obviously they weren't going to start by trying to steamroller late night comedians.
They thought they would run over us first. And that's, that's much easier because it's close to home and they know what they're, you know, and they know how to do it.Um, but now the things that are happening are no surprise because that's, you know, it wasn't just him.I think people misunderstood. It's not just him going in wanting to book bands or something, you know, it's it's commandeering, you know, the governments, the arts. And then from there, That's expression.
That's free. That's freedom of expression. And from there, you move on to the networks and to Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel and 60 minutes and you just keep steamrolling. So I was sick on my stomach when I quit because one I knew they were going to run in the in the ground. No one that they were appointing had any experience in arts administration, but that was never the point.Point was to take that run over and move on.
So it's rotting over.you know, next to the Potomac in the moment, and it's like, it's just sad, you know?
Now, Freedom Williams of C &C Music Factory put out the following statement. He put out the following video today.Play it.
Hey, yo, man. I just got some texts all day.I kind of been out the loop. Some people talking about, yo, Free, yo, you doing the Trump freedom show.Yo, you doing the show on the 25th, 250th anniversary of the U .S.with Donald Trump.

Back to my interview over here with Ben Folds. Here's what he told me as well.Let's play it.
I'm a musician that's not used to messaging this sort of thing, but I've spent a lot of time In the last, you know, 10 or 15 years being involved in advocating for arts funding.I actually did a I actually went to did a test testimony before the.House Subcommittee on Arts.I played and did panels at the Republican National Convention in 2016, as well as the Democratic. And I just, I feel like I know a lot about this, sort of the civics of this and the difference between the private sector and the public sector. What I find is when I'm trying to explain it to other people, Not many people have the prerequisite knowledge for it.
So maybe you could help me out with that a little bit.I mean, there was why I resigned. And then there's kind of another question that I think people want to answer, which is why not stay. But let me say that what I saw was an abuse of power.a very extreme one at the Kennedy Center.People might not realize how the arts work in the government, but it's very separated from the art itself.
The government, partisan politics, is separated with a firewall from what we say, how we say it, who says it.That's up to the people. And the firewall was breached in the biggest way.I mean, he let go of the board.which was bipartisan.Once the board was gone, installed loyalists, the loyalists came in and voted in, guess who, Trump to be the chairman, the head of the Kennedy Center.
The reason that that is so alarming is because now he can put, or they can put their fist on the scale of what is programmed, who gets to speak and who doesn't get to speak at our greatest arts institution, the Kennedy Center. That's a real problem. The thing I have a hard time explaining to people is why not stay and sort of, you know, fight it out.And I think I can really use some Ben Mysalis coaching on this because I know I did the right thing.
And then finally, Ben Fold says, look, as a curator of a national symphony, national orchestra, I can't ensure that the performers are safe. And so how could I curate when Donald Trump is using my, using the performers, using music, using the arts to undermine the arts to further fascism.I can't protect these musical acts. And I think that's what a lot of people are seeing here.Play this clip.
Suddenly I sounded crazy before and all of a sudden it's real. All of a sudden it's like, this is real. It's like, okay, there's not a firewall. When I bring in artists as a curator, are they safe?I don't know.I mean, can they say what they want to?
Yeah, I guess they can, but what's the consequence going to be?They can't trust me anymore, and I can't trust them.them and there's no trust. You know, before there wasn't a law that said you couldn't do this.So Trump did it.But the reason the norms are there and the reason that America is America is because the people are stewarded, not the institutions.
And so, yeah, that was a real thing. And I hate to step away from it, but we'll have to do our work outside of the Kennedy Center, I'm afraid, for a while.
Now, this reminds me as well when we see, you know, like an athlete who stands by Donald Trump and then gets criticism for it.And then they're told, well, why are you like, why are you at a political rally? No, I'm not political, man. It's just the president of the United States.I wasn't being political. And it's like, no, you were standing there.
He's using you as a prop for his propaganda. And if you listen to his speech where you're there clapping and being used as a prop, It's deeply un -American.It's deeply fascist. And so the most recent example of that, when Donald Trump spoke recently in New York, he had the Giants QB, Jackson Dart, introduce him.Jackson Dart's from Utah. Our research team dug up that Jackson Dart's been a longtime MAGA guy, it seems, at least from his social media history, liking things about Trump's mass deportations, liking all of Donald Trump's really grotesque posts over the years.
Our team did a real thorough research there, and then he introduces Donald Trump. We find out that he liked posts including mass deportations, anti -LGBTQ rhetoric, attacks on racial curriculum in schools, and the giant fan base, sports fans in general, come from lots of different backgrounds. And so this idea that you're out there attacking people's freedomattacking people's, you know, and then you don't want criticism.Ah, what are you talking about?I was just introducing him.

I'd love it if y 'all would follow with me.
Go big blue.I just think about Donald Trump like using the Indiana Hoosiers football team, like the college football team. They were there recently. The quarterback wasn't there. He's on the Raiders and he said, I'm too busy in training camp.So he smartly avoided this.
But it's like you're being used as props at a moment in time where there's a fascist president and a deranged and demented president who's using you to like pitch his ballrooms while the American people are suffering. And it's not funny. It's not funny. Here's what Trump said then in front of the team.Let's play.
