TRUMP FIRES KRISTI NOEM

Trump just fired Kristi Noem. And he announced that Senator Markway and Mullen will replace her as Homeland Security Secretary effective March 31st. But Trump also framed it as a promotion, moving Noem to what he called the Special Envoy

for the Shield of the Americas, which is a Western Hemisphere security initiative that he's announcing on Saturday in Florida. But really, here's probably why she's out. Noem told Congress under oath that Trump approved her $220 million taxpayer-funded ad campaign starring her. Well, Trump, he apparently disagrees. And you also saw Senator Kennedy,

a Republican, grilling her about it, pointing out that the contract went to a company that was created 11 days before getting the deal, and it was run by people tied to Noem's political circle. And after the hearing, Kennedy said that Trump called him and said that their recollections are different.

So Noem, she told Congress that the president approved it. apparently says that he didn't, and now she's gone. Mullen, who's a former MMA fighter, also he's probably best known for that cowering photo from January 6th, and then also being a guy that minimizes January 6th.
