By the way guys, just to add something in here while I'm going on my big journey, I've been reading a book series that's not Warhammer 40k, which is shocking to many of you I know, as I have been basically only reading Warhammer 40k for as long as I can remember. But I'm reading Dungeon Crawler Karl. If you've been listening to Distractible, you might know this. If you haven't been listening to Distractible and or watching it,

uh, what's wrong with you? And also I'm sad, because honestly some of my best jokes have been there lately. And some really funny bits. I think there are still some holdouts of people that even- even when I announce something that should be, you know, something that you really truly enjoy, it's, you know, something that you really truly enjoy. It's, you know, me, Bob and Wade making jokes, being really funny together.

Anyway, what I'm saying is I've been trying this new book series, and I like it, and I usually don't try something new. But then I did, and it was great, and I think that's a lesson that everybody can learn. And if there's anything that I- I know about myself, is that I am happy to teach lessons to help people learn things because learning is the only way that we get to grow in life. Besides the growing that we do when we grow as a human into our adult form. Why do I have to keep doing this? Anyway, Dungeon Crawler Carl is very good. I'm very impressed in the author's ability to constantly raise the stakes higher and higher.

I think that's really cool because somehow with each book in the series, and there are points where some people say it lulls a bit and I think I could agree with that, but I'm like I'm just, you know, it's all necessary setup. So not every moment of it is going to be the most unbelievable, exciting thing you've ever read. Not every moment of it is going to be the most unbelievable, exciting thing you've ever read, but it's shocking how much of it is just like incredibly thrilling is a weird word to describe it, but it actually is accurate in this case because, you know,

I wouldn't, the only ever time that I've used the word thrilling in a description of something has been in a sarcastic tone, but this actually is quite a thrilling series and I am impressed by the author's ability to raise the stakes continuously through the whole book series of which there will be eight I believe soon and then I don't know how many there will be in sum total but that's how many there are and I am on the seventh book. So honestly, yeah, it's really impressive

And I think that there's a lot to learn from this writing because when I'm reading a Warhammer 40k It's usually a very humorless Dreary world and that's fine. But you know What you read is usually you know, it gets into a lot of other parts And I think what what's interesting about this one is that it's it's got some dreariness don't worry about that it is fucking dreary at times but in other times it's just a

captivating story and like really well told and and the way things wrap together and like things are set up and the payoffs of it just really really good and it's a fun read I think that that often is lost on some books that people might recommend is that the fun of reading it in some some literary circles is not put at a high priority god I have to do this again I can't believe I have to do this again that's okay for some books but at least for this one

I am very happy with the experience of Reading it. Oh my god, donk Nailed it. Anyway, Dungeon Crawler Carl can't recommend it enough. There's a bunch of books in the series. I Think actually this is one of the books that I wish I had bought paperback I almost exclusively read my books on my phone

And I've read hundreds of books that way that way this one. I'm like man. I just feel like I want it So I'll probably buy but it's not the kind of book that I would reread. I'm not usually the type to reread books but this one just really speaks to me. And I'll say what I'll say in that I said in distractible is that it's not really what I would call the most elegantly. The writing isn't so unbelievably good that I feel like it's a literary marvel, but that's

just in the words, right? The words sometimes I think authors get caught up in making the most flowery, prettiest words. But it's not really about having the most captivating similes and metaphors and, you know. Sometimes just, if you have a really good story to tell already, the, the, this sounds so insulting to the author, because there are some really good lines. But it's like, sometimes all the flowery language can get in the way of

You know just connecting directly to what is this is what's happening when you got that captivating of a story there You know all you really need to do this sounds so demeaning to the author But I mean, I think other people might agree with me on this just you know Just on a surface level of like, you know know if you're looking for that kind of writing it's it's not like that but it's not simple either it's I think it is man you know I'd never mind this is a bad thing statement to say about and I'm almost back to where I should be well
