I think there's a few bullshitters coming out, you know.You know, I'm not scared to say it.People say it about us.It's absolutely fine.It's no skin off my nose.I think we are starting to get a lot of bullshit that's coming out who know absolutely nothing but pretend they do.

I know how Man United operate.They don't just give information to anybody.They don't.We've been doing this for 10 years.It's really hard to get information out of Man United.They'll give a little bit to The Athletic.

They'll give a little bit to Romano.They'll give a little bit to some of the journalists in the press conferences.And they'll give a little bit to David Ornstein.But they're not going to give it to some random.They just don't do that.So when I hear people saying United are going to sign Fernandes and then it's going to be Buleyba, I just think scaring people.

wankers.You know, because that's, you know, that's my nightmare, but that's not what Man United are planning to do at all.

So don't worry that we're going for Baleba after Fernandez.It's just not.It's just not.It's not in the plan.It doesn't mean Belayba won't end up at Man United, but there are other plans ahead of that.Certainly Scott, Anderson, Chiomini, maybe even Tonali.

So there's a lot of things that have got to go wrong for that.Yeah.But look.Big things happening with the Real Madrid elections that are going to have a right impact on us.And this really will impact on Fernandes, Chiamini and maybe even Tonali.We're going to delve into that.

But first of all, I want to say congratulations to our new, not yet official signing, but will be in early July, Edison.Unlucky for Wagner, the Brazilian right backs picked up an injury.A lot of people picking up injuries in this last week before the World Cup.So he's picked up an injury, which means they've had to call up somebody else.So Edison has been called up to the Brazilian World Cup squad.Jami said no, he hasn't.

Oh, yes, he has.It's not a bloody pantomime.It wasn't Wagner.It was Wesley.Sorry.I was halfway right.

Well, I got W right.Anyway, it's a W for Edison.He's in the World Cup.Which is fantastic.I've never really understood why he didn't get picked for the World Cup, because I don't think Brazil's midfield is that good, to be honest.And I mean, look, it's vindication for all of us who think Edison's not horrific.

I've said all along, it's not the most exciting signing, but he's not as bad as some people think he is.And as long as he's the third or fourth choice midfielder, it's not a bad stand, is it?It's not a bad thing.um so you know at the end of the day in the space of a few days doing a deal with atalanta he's now going to the world cup so i i think this is good because i always i remember the i think it was the world cup when we bought fred and You watch those games hoping Fred's going to get on.I don't think he did, to be honest.I think Fred was part of the World Cup squad when we bought him, but I don't think he really played.

So Edison might not get any minutes.He might get some minutes.I mean, he's going in as a late injury replacement, but it's a positive for him, isn't it?And I said when we bought him, I guarantee he's going to get in the Brazil squad in the next internationals because he's a Man United player now.So look, good.good.

And I think that, I mean, the thing is, you can't please everybody, can you?And that's absolutely fine.I actually heard some people moaning, and they might have been the same people who are moaning about assigning him.They were moaning that now he doesn't get a preseason.And it's sort of like, well, you know, I mean, what do you want?Like, do you want What is it you want?

Do you want to moan about he's not a Brazilian international and we shouldn't abort him?Or do you want to moan that he is now a Brazilian international and he's not getting a preseason?I think that interestingly, you know, he probably won't.He would have been.Look, it's a fair point.He would have been preseason in the first week of July.

Now it'll be preseason the first week of August.So he does lose a month and we won't get to see him in the preseason games, which I suppose, I mean, I'm sort of hitting myself live here.I would like, I think those pre -season games are going to be shit.

You know, we're going to be watching Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw.You know, it's not going to be very interesting unless we have some new signings.

And Edison being there would have been a new signing, but he won't be there now.So I suppose from that point of view, the preseason games are a little less interesting.But in relation to him having a preseason, it might have an impact.I mean, does it give him a little bit more of an excuse that he needs a little bit of time to adjust?Maybe.What would Man United think about it?

I suspect Man United might have preferred him not to be in the World Cup, actually.

But I think from a fan perspective, it's good.But I think Man United would have preferred him not to be in it.Yeah, because they would have been like, he gets a full preseason, he gets to settle in, he'll be a bit fresher than everybody else.Whereas now he's got a longer summer.But ultimately, I think it's a positive, isn't it?

OK, let me do that.this then.So get ready.I think things are about to go crazy in the transfer window and I think it's going to have a direct impact on us.Some interesting updates around Fernandes to bring you from Ben Jacobs in a moment.

But ultimately, all the exit polls on the Real Madrid presidential election suggest that Perez has won.So he will stay as Real Madrid president, which means Jose Mourinho will be the manager.This is expected to be announced any moment.

So with that comes two things.One, a declaration that they're going to spend big, especially on the midfield.And two, we know because Fabrizio Romano said it only only a couple of days ago.He basically said that Florentino Perez and George Mendez are in good relationships.They have a very good relationship now.And of course, George Mendez is the agent of Virginia, Neves, Fernandez.

So I think that what we have got now is a scenario where Real Madrid have Perez, and they're going to walk into the market and start trying to do the things that they want to do.And that's going to have a very big impact on us, because we have a good relationship with George Mendez and we have a reasonably good relationship with Real Madrid.We've taken Varane, we've taken Casimiro in recent years.We have a good relationship with George Mendez.I think he helped us on the Yoro deal.He certainly helped us on the Agaté deal.

So this, So George Mendes is going to be a very important player in this transfer window.Not an actual player, he's too old, but you know, as a super agent, he'll have a big, big part to play.

What we don't know at the moment is how it's going to run, because Fabrizio did announce

They've said, no, we're not breaking up the team that's going for three Champions Leagues in a row.

We can literally equal Real Madrid's recent record with Zidane.We're not weakening our team to help the team that we're trying to equal the record of.So Vettinia and Neves are apparently not for sale.Now, that becomes good for Man United in one way, because why would PSG sign Fernandez when they've already got Neves and Vettinia?

So maybe they're not going to do that.But Do we trust that that's going to happen?Real Madrid have said that they are going to spend £150 million on Tuesday on a player.Bayern Munich have come out and said they're not selling Alisa either.So who is it?

But it's going to cause a lot of things to happen.And of course, we're sort of sat there with bated breath in a sense, because Cermini and Fernandes are two players where we'd like both.We'd certainly like one of them.One of them's at Real Madrid, Cermini.And if they're going to buy midfielders, then he could leave.And that's where they could bring some money in because we'd happily take him.

He's our dream target.Also, Real Madrid themselves have been linked to Fernandes as well.And George Mendes has a very good relationship with Florentino Perez.And he is the agent of Fernandez so things are about to kick off big -time because Perez will be announced tonight Mourinho will be announced tomorrow and Probably sign somebody on Tuesday where man United are gonna fall into all this is going to be very interesting We just have to keep ourselves in the conversation.Well, you know ultimately people aren't gonna like what's going onsay here, but we have to pitch ourselves into this relationship where we get what we can.

We're not Premier League winners.We're not Champions League contenders.Real Madrid are, PSG are, Arsenal are.So we're not necessarily in a position where we can barge our way to the front and beat everybody.But what we can do is get involved in conversations with George Mendes where we say, look, This is what we want to do.How does that play out for you in relation to what you need to do?

For example, if there is a midfielder going to Real Madrid, can we be involved in that to take Chiomini?There are multiple opportunities here.I mean, look, I trust Romano's right when PSG say they're not selling Vettina or Neves.I actually felt it was Vettina and was thinking Vettina from PSG to Real Madrid, Chiomini to us.And maybe PSG want Fernandes, I don't know, but maybe we still get Fernandes.But I think what we need to do, and I think we will do this, and it is a positive, is that we do have good relationships with Jorge Mendes and we do have good relationships with PSG and Real Madrid.

So as long as we put ourselves in a position, we shouldn't end up with nothing.It's very, you know, there is a scenario where we end up with Chiumini and Fernandes, but there's definitely a scenario where we end up with one of them.And, you know, that's better than none of them.

So I think it's going to be It's going to get very interesting in the next few days, so I would get ready.And as I said to you yesterday morning, I think a bid for Fernandes is going to go in imminently, probably this week, because we're going to get clarity on what's happening.Now, what Ben Jacobs has said today around this situation is that Fernandes is one ofwatch right now, definitely one to watch.West Ham do want 80 million but the price might come down as West Ham will need the cash at some point.There is competition from PSG, but also Arsenal potentially are looking at it.

But they do also now have Lewis Skelly, who they may be able to redirect into the midfield and buy a left back instead.So do they actually need a midfielder?So maybe Arsenal are out of the equation.

But I think it's a good thing.Look, I was having this chat with somebody this afternoon about Fernandes specifically, because there's a lot of stuff floating out there.

And Look, everybody knows that there is no exclusive here.We've spoken about it, Ben Jacobs has spoken about it, Fabrizio Romano has spoken about it.Everybody's spoken about it in fairness.Fernandes is a player that Man United really, really want.

So what's best outcome for us?Well, it's a little bit like watching a film.We don't want to switch it off.and not know what the ending is.We want to know the ending.And I think we're getting to the point very, very soon where we find that ending.

And I don't think it's a coincidence that it's roughly around the same time where we found out about Imbermo.So, look, Quency says we won't get neither.I can't, I'm speculating, but I know stuff about Ciumini, and I keep saying this, I don't see anybody really talking about Ciumini, and yet I know a lot about Ciumini.and it surprises me that none of the so -called in -the -nose aren't talking about it because that is definitely something United can do if certain things happen.

If Real Madrid don't buy midfielders it won't happen but I think Real Madrid are going to buy midfielders so it depends.what you want, really.Who would you rather get, Fernandes or Choup?I mean, that's a great question.I do think that they are intrinsically linked in relation to what we're talking about tonight.We're talking about the presidential elections, which Perez is going to win.

And we're talking about a lot of money that's going to get spent that's going to probably have a big impact on PSG and Man United more than anybody else.And there is multiple scenarios.There is Fernandes comes to us, Real Madrid buy a couple of midfielders and Chiamini comes to us.There is Real Madrid get a PSG midfielder, PSG get Fernandes and we get Chiamini.So there are multiple scenarios here.I think Man United want Chiamini more than Fernandes, by the way, because he's our dream.

But I don't think we end up with neither.That would be failure.That would be unacceptable.I don't think we end up with neither.But I do think sometimes you can't give the answer and what's going to happen is slightly out of our hands.And I'm comfortable with that.

You know, I think some people would be critical and say, oh, you know, rubbish, you know, just shows you how far we've fallen.

Well, maybe that is true.But also, I do accept that last season we finished 15th, this season we finished third.It's our first year back in the Champions League for a couple of years.We're not Premier League contenders.

We're not a Champions League contender.And we're sort of getting involved in battles where you're up against two or three of the biggest teams in the world at the moment.So you've got to box carefully there because you can end up getting knocked out.What we don't want to do is get knocked out of both Ciuomini, Anderson and Fernandez deals.We want to keep ourselves in a situation.And you might have to give one up to get the other, but there is definitely a scenario where we get both.

And I'd be very surprised with the relationship we have with George Mendes that that doesn't happen.So, yeah, I'm interested to see how it's going to play out.But look, how many times have we over the summer said this week's going to be a big week and then it's not been a big week but I think that the domino effect is about to kick in and my suspicions are we are linked to George Mendez and Real Madrid quite heavily in relation to what they're going to do and what I mean by that is George Mendez does like to do deals where multiple things are going on.And sorry, let me just get rid of Lawrence.I think he's falling asleep.

So, yeah, I think keep a strong eye on the next 24 to 48 hours.I mean, somebody said, what if Real Madrid are going for a lease and it's got nothing to do with PSG?That's still a good thing.

Still a good thing, because it means PSG are keeping their team together.And there is competition for Fernandes, but maybe it's not as big competition as come and play in the midfield for Man United.I mean, I heard a brilliant comment today.We talk about Fernandes preferring to come to Manchester United, but what are we actually offering him?Because if we get Tonali or Tuomini, they will start with Menou and Fernandes will be on the bench.So what are we actually offering him?

That could be the same as what PSG and Arsenal are offering.I don't think he starts for Arsenal.I don't think he necessarily starts for PSG.But I don't think he necessarily starts for us.So I think that, you know, we're probably all in the same boat there.But

But as Emily was saying there, I don't know what scenario I want from this Real Madrid thing.I know this Real Madrid £150m signing is going to put a cat amongst the pigeons.Absolutely it is.But what do we want it to be?Do we want it to be a Lycee from Bayern Munich and then PSG keep their midfielders?Maybe they leave Fernandes alone and we get him?

Then we need Real Madrid to still buy midfielders so that we can get Chiomini.

Do we want Real Madrid to be signing Boutinho or Neves so that then they sell us Chiomini but they might get Fernandes as a replacement?I want a scenario where we get both.

um if i'm being completely honest with you and i think that um it's but it's the real madrid do need to buy midfielders if we want to meaning but on the other hand i mean look real madrid could buy fernandez as well they have been linked to him real madrid could buy fernandez apparently marino really likes him so If it's an either or, I'd take Chiomini over Fernandes, but I'd like a scenario where we get both.I think where we get both, the £150m player is Alise, Real Madrid still go and buy Rodri, Enzo Fernandes, and we get Chiomini.So that's probably the best scenario for me because Real Madrid have been linked to Rodri, they have been linked to Enzo Fernandes.If they get both of them, or one of them, That means they can still sell Tuomini.We could get Tuomini and Fernandes.So that's what I'm hoping for.

Now a lot of that's probably because he's got Mainu next to him who isn't particularly good defensively, so he's got to do a lot of defensive work.

But in addition to that, he's scoring goals.He's scoring goals.So And in addition to that, he's a multi -Champions League winner, massively Brazilian capped international, and one of the best holding midfielders of a generation.So you've got this defensive monster who scores goals, who is a leader.That's a massive void.And we mustn't allow anybody to tell us it's not.

You don't fill that void with, they might be a good player.

There has to be somebody that comes in through the door where you go, all right, you're not Casemiro, but you might be.Somebody has to be that, somebody.

In the last three years, he had a hamstring injury in the 23 -24 season.And last season, he had one injury where he had a back problem for three days.So, I mean, look, I think Ricky would be running around his garden with his top off if we signed Welbeck.I mean, I don't know what else would come off, but imagine that.We signed Danny Welbeck, and in the next few days, there's an injury in the England squad and Luke Shaw gets called up.I mean, Ricky would be, I think everything would be coming off, which is not a great thought, but then again, some people would be coming off.

Personally, I'd go with Tenali, if I'm being honest, but I'd be very happy with either of them.As long as we get that marquee signing, I would be very happy.But yeah, going back to what we was talking about at the start of the show, Florentino Perez is about towin the Real Madrid presidential elections.That's going to have a huge impact on the transfer window.Real Madrid have made some very big promises about what they're going to do, and it's going to impact the whole of football.

So big signings coming in, Mourinho coming in.How is that going to help or hinder Man United?Well, one way or another, it's going to move things forward.I think one of the big frustrations last summer was we had a clear path at Emburmo and from this point it took six weeks and we didn't do anything else.So from the start of June to the middle of July we didn't do anything.Cunha had already been basically done and then in the middle of July we got Emburmo and then towards the end of July we got Sesco and then it wasn't till September that we got Le Mans.

So it was a lot slower last summer.I'm all for speed.I'm all for everything moving quick.We actually need to do a deal every two weeks if we get, just to get five players in from this point.So, look, hopefully this Real Madrid stuff, I'm sure it will, will move things forward and their targets will become clear.Yeah.

The issue is, I would put him at a 7 out of 10 on the Hottermeter.I think that's what he is. I wouldn't go any higher than that at the moment because we haven't had the indicator to take it that high.We haven't had, he only wants United, it's now about negotiating.When you get to that point, You're almost there.What I would say is, you're not definitely there.I heard somebody say the other day, when the player picks United, it's a done deal.

Well, I made that mistake last summer.When David Ornstein said last summer, Man United were in talks with Baleba, I was like, well, that's it.David Ornstein said that, so we've got him.

Unfortunately for David, he isn't always right.He said that Slot was staying at Liverpool and things can change.

So even if Fernandes says, you want to Man United, I'd put him up to a 9 out of 10, but you've still got to get the deal done.But I think it's a little bit different.Brighton obviously wanted ridiculous money for Buleva.I do think West Ham have to do a deal.So yeah, we definitely want Fernandes.Do I think we'll sign him?
