Get out of the car.

2:30

Hey, look. Hey, Clint.

2:32

So I'm pulled over right now, and they're telling me I got to get out of the car for what reason? Because we're gonna have a conversation back at the back of the car. Because they want to have a conversation in the back seat. I'm not getting out the car because you want to have a... No, I'm not getting out the car. Okay.

2:50

Alright.

2:52

So at this time you are under arrest. You are not free to leave. You are under arrest. I'm not under arrest.

2:58

I'm under arrest for what? Hold on, my lawyer called. Hey, so a police officer is right here telling me I have to step out my car, and I'm telling him I don't want to step out my car. He's telling me to step out the car to have a conversation.

3:14

I've already told you you're under arrest.

You're under arrest at this point.

3:17

And he's trying to tell me since I didn't want to step out the car, I'm under arrest. But you are arrest. I'm under arrest. I'm under arrest. I'm under arrest.

3:25

I'm under arrest.

I'm under arrest.

3:27

I'm under arrest.

3:37

I'm under arrest. What it does is give me some paperwork. All you have to do is get it out of the car. Oh, your paperwork. You want me to get out of my car to talk to you about what? There's nothing to talk about. This is not your car.

3:54

Never had a police tell me to step out of the car to ask a simple question.

3:56

Well, there's a firearm within like two feet of both of our faces yeah in front of you what are you talking about?

4:08

Open THC container in the center console. All right who do you want to pick up the car and the gun? I gotta be here in 30 minutes or less.

4:18

What happened at home with y'all? What y'all so upset about?

4:21

Who are we calling?

4:23

We are over at 7050 Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

4:27

It's called American Deli.

4:28

Do you know about how long it'll take to get over here?

4:30

American Deli.

4:31

There's a lot of us.

4:32

American Deli.

4:33

7050.

4:34

American Deli.

4:35

7050 Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

4:37

Alright, now hang my phone up and lock my phone. Alright. Hang my phone up and lock it. Oh, damn it. Hang it up and lock it.

4:45

Can I see that?

4:46

Hang it up and lock it. All right, now let go.

4:53

Hey, how's it going?

4:54

You have my son detained.

4:55

Yes, sir. He's currently under arrest for obstruction.

4:57

OK.

4:58

As well as a variety of other traffic charges. Yeah, he was caught doing 70 in a 45. He was instructed to step out of the vehicle because there was a firearm on the dashboard and we wanted to separate him from that and he refused.

5:09

Did he express his fear for safety?

5:14

We have, we gotta be safe too. He's right there with John.

5:18

I understand.

5:19

I don't know.

5:20

Okay, okay. He said there's absolutely no way to resolve this.

5:26

No, he was told multiple times that he needed to get out of the vehicle. He was even told that according to Supreme Court case law, he is required to exit a vehicle when he's requested to do so by a law enforcement officer. Pennsylvania v. Memphis, he stated that, you know, he doesn't have to, he doesn't want to. He was informed that he was under arrest at the time. He's still continuing to refuse to the vehicle. It wasn't until his lawyers called him back and said you need to get out of the car right now. So he got out of the car and was placed under arrest. Well you guys were just listening to

5:53

some of the body camera footage of the moment that rapper T.I.'s son King Harris was arrested. There was a lot to take in there. Yes he was in the yellow Pikachu onesie that so many people were talking about yesterday. Yes, you might've heard him mentioning American deli. If you're from the Atlanta Metro area, you know that's a popular wing stop here. Sounds like he was trying to give that in reference

6:15

to where officers could pick up the gun that was in question here. So again, a lot of different moving parts in this situation and then his famous dad himself TI showed up and had a conversation with police saying, did my son say that there were any concerns for his safety?

6:31

Why did you guys want him out of the car? So Gwinnett County police did release that video, so we have shown it to you all because we think it's only fair that you see it and make the judgments for yourselves. I did say that this is a live conversation, a news conversation, not a

6:47

typical newscast, so I am seeing some of your comments in real time. So if you see me leaning over here it's because I'm quite literally looking at them. I saw a couple of you were saying that you feel as though King doesn't deserve to have a license. I did respond to you Susan Carst said, what makes you sa to know what about this v I'm not liking the idea o on the road. I noticed th

7:11

others who were asking um T. I confronts. I did end you look at our banner, i to officers because I agr he was talking back and f saying what was the reason for this arrest. Let's try to understand

7:28

what's happening here. So I want to give you some more background on this story just in case you're just now tuning in. Hello, thank you for being here for Fox five News Live or unscripted news conversation. When I county police say an officer saw a camo wrapped tes Cybertruck speeding near Holcomb Bridge Road in Peachtree. This was all on April 12th. I almost said second there. The officer had to reach speeds

7:51

of 80 miles per hour just to be able to stop the car which was eventually clocked doing 70 in a 45 zone. Now the body camera footage shows the officer telling Harris he was absolutely flying down the road.

You saw his response once stopped. Now officers did notice a firearm on the dashboard and an open THC container in the center console. Harris did initially refuse to exit the car. You saw some of that exchange and that did lead to a bit of a standoff in which he warned, the officer I should say warned, that he would be arrested for obstruction.

8:26

He did make a phone call. He says it was to his lawyer. And that is essentially the big back and forth that you saw. So while police did identify a pill found as oxycodone, it's not clear if this was for a legal prescription or not. That's something we're still working to figure out.

8:45

Police haven't released further details about who owns that handgun that was in the dashboard, but again, a story that we're going to keep you posted on because it's hyper local here.

8:55

We know that T and his family run around Atlanta quite often. They're very involved in businesses around here and we know that you guys like their music, you guys like their music,

9:03

so we want to keep you posted
