a huge tax break. They can finally deduct business expenses like any other company, and it opens up medical research. It also sets up an expedited DEA registration process for licensed producers in the 40 states that have medical marijuana programs. And honestly, this is long overdue. Marijuana has been federally banned since the marijuana tax of 1937,

and it's been classified as more dangerous than fentanyl. But now 40 states have medical programs, 24 states have recreational legalization, and only Idaho and Kansas has banned it outright. But also not everyone's happy. Critics, including 20 Republican senators who asked Trump not to do this, are calling it a giveaway to big weed. But for now, we'll have to see how this plays out.
